Fruit Salad
Salad

Ingredients for 6 people

2 big and juicy oranges
2 red apples
250 gr strawberries
1 banana
2 pears
2 kiwi
2 peaches
? fresh pineapple
50 gr. walnuts
50 gr. Sweet almonds
1 lemon
50 gr sugar

Wash all the fruit. Choose a nice big bowl and, first of all, squeeze the lemon inside. Peel and cut all the fresh fruit in pieces of the same dimensions. In the meantime, mix the fruit salad so the lemon juice dampens all the pieces and prevents them from macerating and becoming dark. After mixing everything, add the strained juice of the two squeezed oranges, the nuts, and the sugar.
Mix everything well and put in the fridge for at least two hours before serving. Pay attention to the walnuts; you need to peel them. To do it easily, you can put them in hot water for a few minutes.

Curiosity
Fruit salad deserves this name only when it is made exclusively with fresh fruit, always mistrust those in cans. The type of fruit, these indicated or others, should be chosen based on their color. Only in a few cases is the color so important in Italian cuisine as it is in fruit salads. Only pears and apples, cut and put together could never be called a fruit salad, but just add some strawberries and your salad is ready! The addition of nuts is a family secret, it gives a different crunchy consistency.  The amount of sugar added is related to the type of fruit used, if the fruit is mature you don?t need to add much sugar, otherwise you will need more. Sometimes orange juice could be enough to sweeten the whole salad. The fruit salad can be kept in the fridge for some days, but don?t count on it, it will be eaten immediately after the first taste!
