La Rinascente
La Rinascente was the first department store to open in Roma in 1887. It took its current name in 1917 when it was called this by the famous Italian poet Gabriele D'Annunzio after a serious fire ( Rinascente means "that is reborn") The glass and metal architecture by De Angelis has remained unchanged. Rinascente is the most upmarket store in Rome and prices are not cheap. Nevertheless, it is worth going there for off-the-peg clothes, household linen, luggage and the perfume counters. The men's section is well-stocked and offer a good selection of ties and shirts.

There's no food hall, but there's good clothes section, especially for children, and they also sell quite attractive crockery and household articles.
