Lago-d-Iseo_The-Floating-Piers_Christo_&_Jeanne-ClaudeParliamo di Cultura in Italia, in questo giugno Romano alquanto confusionario tra elezioni e tempo che impazza, non si può non parlare del grande evento mediatico che da Roma ci porta sul Lago d’Iseo, una straordinaria pubblicità globale offerta con l’installazione ambientale spettacolare di Christo e Jeanne-Claude: “The Floating Piers”.

Lago-d-Iseo_The-Floating-Piers_Christo_&_Jeanne-Claude_Un opera temporanea dalla durata effimera voluta dall’artista che come tante altre, supera i limiti tradizionali della pittura, della scultura e dell’architettura, è arte pubblica. Lo scopo dell’artista è, da sempre, quello di creare opere d’arte spettacolari, uniche, allegre, spensierate e totalmente gratuite per i visitatori, come questa ora presente in Italia.

Era dal 1974 che lo aspettavamo in Italia dopo che a Roma con “Wrapped Roman Wall” l’artista impacchettò un tratto delle Mura Aureliane e i Romani ancora se lo ricordano bene.

Anche le persone più inimmaginabili, che non seguono il mondo dell’arte, oggi sanno chi è “Christo… quello che cammina sull’acqua”!

Chrsito-e-moglie_Jeanne-ClaudeChristo e Jeanne-Claude, sono un binomio artistico famoso in tutto il mondo, due persone ma artisticamente un’unica. Già molto conosciuto nel mondo francofono e negli usa dove si sono trasferiti anni fa, sono fra i maggiori rappresentanti della Land-Art cioè intervengono sul paesaggio e lo modificano nel loro caso in maniera provvisoria. La Land-Art è una forma d’arte contemporanea sorta negli USA nel 1967, è tra i più complessi e affascinanti esperimenti artistici ispirati alla natura, quindi chiamata Land- Art. Christo e Jeanne-Claude sono noti per aver realizzato opere su grande scala e soprattutto per le opere realizzate con il tessuto, “imballando” monumenti o stendendo lunghi teli in luoghi naturali.

Finalmente in Italia The Floating Piers questo progetto unico dei pontili galleggianti di 3.5 km fino al 3 luglio 2016 sul piccolo Lago d’Iseo. Nasce da un idea di entrambi gli artisti tanti anni fa negli anni settanta e finalmente realizzata da l’artista Christo, dopo la scomparsa della sua inseparabile moglie con cui lo aveva pensato. Cinquant’anni di vita passata assieme, durante la quale, quando lui ero acido e antipatico nei suoi confronti, lei cercava di essere gentile, e viceversa. Due persone a cui piaceva confrontarsi animatamente. Che cosa è esattamente e perché un opera del genere?

The Floating Piers sono pontili galleggianti formati da cubi di polietilene ad alta densità grandi e robusti, che ha fatto realizzare Christo, seguendo passo dopo passo a Pilzone in Danimarca dove si trova il cantiere. Sono stati fatti molti test e collaudi. Questi pontili creano una passeggiata sull’acqua e sono coperti da tessuto di color giallo ocra. L’opera è interamente realizzata con i costi dell’Artista, circa 12 milioni di euro. Una vista dall’alto delle prime piattaforme che sono assemblate e poi collocate in modo da rispettare l’andamento delle correnti del lago. Christo illustra: “pur essendo nato in un Paese comunista come la Bulgaria, dopo la sua fuga in Occidente ha sempre adottato un metodo capitalista nel suo lavoro. Tutto il materiale sarà riciclato o venduto e nulla rimarrà di quest’opera, che non è assolutamente un mezzo di collegamento tra terraferma e Montisola.” Christo, parla sempre al plurale come se Jeanne-Claude fosse ancora al suo fianco.

È un’installazione colossale e gioiosa, un esempio di land art unica le cui dimensioni e follia ci afferrano quando ci si cammina sopra. Camminare sulle acque, un’occasione unica nella vita. Ciò che crea il consenso a livello mondiale, oggi è proprio lo spettatore e l’attenzione dei media. Un grande progetto d’arte di un maestro del contemporaneo che lascerà tracce importanti…iniziamo a camminare sui Floating Piers…

Christo e la moglie Jeanne-Claude nati entrambi il 13 giugno 1935.

Christo Vladimirov Yavachev (a Gabrovo 13 giugno 1935) e Jeanne-Claude Denat de Guillebon (Casablanca 13 giugno 1935 – New York 18 novembre 2009). Christo è figlio da un imprenditore e da segretaria dell’Accademia di Belle Arti di Sofia (dove lui stesso studierà) ha vissuto a Parigi, dove arriva nel 1958. Considerato apolide, rinuncia al suo cognome slavo per utilizzare unicamente il suo nome con cui è diventato famoso. Nel 1958 si sono conosciuti con Jeanne-Claude a Parigi, un incontro unico che solo il destino riuscirebbe forse a trovare una spiegazione. Vi sono rimasti fino a 1965 per poi trasferirsi in un ex edificio industriale a Manatthan –NY. Nel 1961 è loro prima collaborazione nel porto di Colonia a cui segue l’anno seguente a Parigi la loro prima opera monumentale: Rideau de Fer, un muro di barili d’olio a bloccare rue Visconti, nei pressi della Senna, in segno di protesta al muro di Berlino. Sulla produzione artistica della coppia hanno anche influito il pensiero e l’arte di Man Ray e Joseph Beuys, con particolare riferimento alle opere l’Enigma di Isidore Ducasse del primo e al Pianoforte con Feltro del secondo.

Christo_at-lake-Iseo_ItalyChristo è principalmente l’artista delle opere, mentre Jeanne-Claude è l’organizzatrice. Le opere destinate al pubblico sono firmate da Christo e Jeanne-Claude, i disegni da Christo. In genere le opere sono interamente finanziati dalla vendita dei disegni preparatori, collage o modellini. Dopo la scomparsa di Jeanne-Claude nel 2009, Christo annuncia il suo desiderio di completare le opere Over the River e Mastaba. Christo vive a New York nel quartiere di SoHo nella casa che ha condiviso per anni con la compagna.

Dal 1972 tutti i loro lavori sono fotografati esclusivamente da Wolfgang Volz; mentre per almeno cinque dei loro maggiori lavori è stato prodotto anche un documentario da parte di Albert e David Maysles.

The Floating Piers è aperto al pubblico senza alcun costo. 24 ore al giorno, anche illuminato la sera.

The Floating Piers, una volta sulla passerella che parte da Sulzano, abituatevi al galleggiamento, perché sembra di stare in barca, e se siete in una giornata di sole attenzione al riflesso del telo dorato. Si passeggia collegando Monte Isola all’isola privata di San Paolo, di proprietà della famiglia Beretta. Isoletta davvero minuscola, circondata solo dal telo dorato galleggiante pensato da Christo. Un giro intorno all’Isoletta di San Paolo e a quel punto siete pronti a prendere l’ultimo tratto di The Floating Piers, quello che vi riporterà a poche centinaia di metri da Peschiera Maraglio e dal primo dei moli su cui avrete transitato per arrivare a Montisola. Passeggiando fino a Peschiera Maraglio, sul Montisola e da lì una volta arrivati “a terra” dal primo tratto di Floating Piers potreste avere due possibilità. Girare a sinistra, e proseguire subito verso gli altri due “bracci” di The Floating Piers, oppure farvi una bella passeggiata verso la cima del Monte. (The Floating Piers può essere visto anche dall’alto passando da un meraviglioso: Santuario della Madonna della Ceriola, esattamente in cima al Monte Isola. Vi sono diversi sentieri ma il più affascinante è la vecchia mulattiera che sale per circa 600 metri di dislivello e passa da Cure)

Già che ci siete, il panino fatevelo fare col salame di Montisola, una prelibatezza locale.

cartina_lago-d-Iseo_MapPer arrivare al Lago d’Iseo: dalle 5.30 all’una e mezza: 84 treni al giorno. Sono questi i numeri del piano di Trenord per The Floating Piers sulla Brescia-Iseo-Edolo. Il treno si candida dunque come miglior modo per raggiungere l’installazione dell’artista bulgaro con le speciali offerte messe a disposizione da Trenord.

Si va dal Trenord Day Pass (il giornaliero per raggiungere Sulzano da tutta la regione al costo di 13 euro), al Family day pass (valido per due adulti e ragazzi fino ai 13 anni al costo di 26 euro) e per finire il biglietto Brescia-Sulzano a 7 euro.

In auto da Milano – a seconda degli orari in cui partirete – bisogna prendere la Milano – Venezia, prendete l’uscita Ospitaletto e preparatevi a qualche chilometro di strade statali. A quel punto potrete scegliere dove fermarvi per lasciare l’auto, se nel carissimo, ultimo parcheggio prima di Sulzano – costa 20 euro al giorno… – o in uno degli altri, più economici, e sempre dotati di navette per portarvi dal parcheggio al molo galleggiante di Sulzano, da dove farete partire la vostra visita. In ogni caso, trovate l’app con mappa dei parcheggi, con tanto di pdf che vi mostra prezzi e orari della navette
