We All Love Ennio Morricone
15 February @ 21:00 - 23:00 UTC+1
24€ - 33€
“We All Love Ennio Morricone” is a theatrical concert inspired by the CD of the same name produced by Luigi Caiola, Maestro Morricone’s manager for 18 years, published by Sony in 2007 to celebrate the Oscar for the career of the famous composer and conductor.
The idea behind this work is to offer the public an unusual Morricone, for once “told” by the international musical community rather than by the world of cinema to which, after all, he lent his talent and creativity, but without ever forgetting that he was first and foremost a musician, at the service of music and then film.
The concert, as well as the CD, features some of Morricone’s best-known pieces reinterpreted by various musicians and singers from the international pop, classical, jazz and rock scene, each in their own way.
On stage at the Teatro Parioli in Rome, five musicians who have worked with Morricone for many years in the studio and in concert, Ludovico Fulci (keyboards), Nanni Civitenga (bass), Nicola Costa (guitars), Maurizio Trippitelli (percussion) and Massimo D’Agostino (drums), will perform the tracks on the CD with the same arrangements, interspersed with musical “transitions” written by Maestro Morricone to link the tracks on the disc.
These musicians will be joined by the reciting voice of actor Giulio Berruti and singers Maria Di
Di Bernardo and Stefano Tanzillo. Finally, during the concert some extracts from “My life, my music”, a video-interview produced by Luigi Caiola and directed by Giovanni Morricone, the Maestro’s son, in which Morricone himself expresses his ideas about his music and his activity as a composer, will be shown.
The programme of the eighty-minute concert includes pieces such as “Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo”, “C’era una volta il West”, “Mission”, “Nuovo Cinema Paradiso”, “Love affair”, “Metti, una sera a cena”, Se telefonando”, “Cera una volta in America”, “Malena”, “La leggenda del pianista sull’oceano” and many others.
