Christmas in the Snow White Woods between Elves, Fairies and Kings
IL BOSCO INCANTATO
THE ENCHANTED FOREST
show written and directed by Francesco Cerra
Elves, Fairies, Kings and Witches arrive in Alta Tuscia in the Bosco del Sasseto.
Every Sunday until 5 January 2020
11.00 and 12.00, Piazza S. Angelo, 19 Torre Alfina / Acquapendente (VT)
After the success of November, Il Bosco Incantato al Bosco del Sasseto, in Torre Alfina – Acquapendente (VT), doubles its repeat performances and is staged every Sunday of the month until January 5, 2020.
Defined by the National Geographic as “the forest of Snow White” and already the setting of Garrone in Il racconto dei racconti, the suggestive wood of Sasseto di Torre Alfina – Acquapendente (VT), with its imposing centuries-old trunks, with “Il Bosco Incantato” becomes the protagonist of a new artistic and theatrical incursion that animates it with elves, fairies, kings and witches.
Starting from the true story of Marquis Cahen, who wanted to keep the soul of this green area, unique in its kind, not taming it in the park but keeping the forest to all intents and purposes, the City of Acquapendente (VT) every Sunday offers The Enchanted Wood: itinerant representation, fun and at the same time visionary, intended to involve families in an artistic game in the footsteps of the elf Alfin.
A show that becomes a sensory experience through a story with ethical and naturalistic implications, a “green” story born to introduce children to the historical and environmental heritage of Tuscia and the Sasseto Woods, a place of unique and ancient charm, an ancient forest a few kilometers from Rome.
With his flute, the elf Alfin – among paths where the beech, the elm, the holm oak and the manna tree coexist, together with 30 other species of trees set among the monolithic boulders covered with moss – guides the young spectators to the discovery of the beauty of the forest and the story of a mysterious king, in love with a fairy and victim of the evils of a witch. The story begins with the story of Marquis Edoardo Cahen, who acquired the property of Torre Alfina at the end of the 19th century.
A treasure chest of biodiversity of flora and fauna, the Bosco del Sasseto is a jewel to be preserved and handed down, located in the territory of Acquapendente, in the Alta Tuscia Viterbese, adjacent to the village of Torre Alfina, whose history is one with that of the medieval castle that dominates the entire valley. The castle itself, as well as the charming Flower Museum, can be visited every weekend (info on the portal https://www.acquapendente.online/)
In a place where you can breathe the magical aura of nature and history, a heritage to be enhanced and made known to all, The Enchanted Wood, written and directed by Francesco Cerra, becomes a theatrical visit to all intents and purposes, a virtuous example of enhancement of the territory, able to combine two souls of cultural entertainment: the one linked to the story of a place exploring the historical and cultural aspects and that of performing art “set” in natural scenery intact and of rare beauty.
For the realization of the project, the Municipality of Acquapendente (VT) has availed itself of the collaboration of PromoTuscia, Incoming Tour Operator of Viterbo, active in the territorial marketing of Tuscia for 25 years. PromoTuscia has designed with the City this formula of event that will be proposed also for 2020 and scheduled on numerous Sundays and holidays throughout the year. In combination with the show, also, PromoTuscia suggests ideas to better enjoy the experience at Acquapendente, offering food and wine tours, with the possibility of overnight stay.
