Live Museum, Live Change: for the “inhabited museum” call to the artists at the Mercati di Traiano
November 22, 2019
At the Mercati di Traiano, LIVE MUSEUM, LIVE CHANGE start a call for artists to “live” one of the most visited museums in the capital. To continue to open the doors to the future and to dialogue with the contemporary Friday 22 November at the Mercati di Traiano, there will be the presentation of the call addressed to single artists or gathered in collective form, who intervene with context-specific works within the Museum .
Live Museum Live Change – PAV project, realized as part of the Notice Atelier Arte Bellezza Culture of the Lazio Region (POR FESR Lazio 2014/2020 action 3.3.1b), thanks to the collaboration with Roma Capitale, Department of Cultural Growth – Capitolina Superintendency to Cultural Heritage – launches a call for the “inhabited museum” of Via Quattro Novembre to select artists who intervene with installation works or in multimedia format, who know how to inhabit a unique space such as the Markets of Trajan and know how to dialogue not only with the its historical and cultural stratification but also with the communities that today pass through it. The interventions will be carried out after a short period of residence at the Museum and will be housed in the courtyard of the Piccolo Hemiciclo.
Live Museum, Live Change, is a leitmotiv which inspires the same call, is the theme of transformation, as a phenomenon, natural and complex, which makes the museum a living, current and ever-growing place: transformation as a shared action that makes a museum a living garden, not just a place to visit but a space for dialogue and shared growth. Giving new meaning to the area, transforming it into a place of artistic creation and a new relationship with the City, generating synergies, enhancing the experience of citizens within the Museum, articulating a different perspective: these are the objectives of the call and entire project, which intends to multiply the opportunities for discovery, study and narration, around a central place in the city of Rome, and central to the history of public and private life of an entire civilization. For the development of the Live Museum activities, Live Change PAV uses the network built with ECCOM-Ideas for Culture, Melting Pro and Visiva Lab.
The deadline for sending the application is scheduled for Monday, December 16, 2019.
