Novellara, 15 February 2026 – The 33rd edition of Nomadincontro 2026, the annual event promoted by Beppe Carletti to honour the memory of Augusto Daolio, co-founder of the Nomadi who passed away in 1992, has just come to an end. The event takes place every year around the singer’s birthday, who would have turned 79 on 18 February.
As usual, the small town of Novellara was transformed for an entire weekend into a meeting point for fan clubs and enthusiasts from all over Italy, combining live music, civic reflection and social solidarity.
A HIDDEN TREASURE FOR OVER 40 YEARS
The event kicked off with the inauguration of a permanent exhibition of Daolio’s paintings, photographs and manuscripts in the Gonzaga Museum. But the real surprise came with the exhibition “Augusto Daolio – Quadri in concerto” (Augusto Daolio – Paintings in Concert), set up in the former Jesuit convent.
For the first time, the public was able to admire the original drawings created by Augusto in 1979 for the historic “Album Concerto” in collaboration with Francesco Guccini. These drawings were rejected by the record company at the time, which preferred a simple photograph for the cover. Beppe Carletti kept them jealously for more than forty years before showing them to the public on this occasion.
THE AUGUSTO DAOLIO AWARD TO NICOLA GRATTERI
The moment of greatest civic intensity saw Nicola Gratteri, Public Prosecutor of Naples, awarded the 7th Augusto Daolio Award. On the stage of the “F. Tagliavini” Theatre, Gratteri spoke with Beppe Carletti and journalist Pierluigi Senatore about the themes of his book “Cartelli di sangue” (Blood Cartels), addressing highly topical issues: the separation of careers in the judiciary, the fight against organised crime and the role of institutions in protecting legality.
SATURDAY CONCERT
In the evening, there was a concert by Nomadi, preceded by performances by emerging artists such as singer-songwriter Giulio Nicolosi, the band Carne, and Marta Ferradini.
SUNDAY: STORIES OF MIGRATION, THE FIGHT AGAINST BULLYING AND NEW TALENTS
The second day intertwined urgent social issues with a look to the future.
The meeting at the “F. Tagliavini” theatre, “Noi vagabondi, storie migranti” (We wanderers, migrant stories), opened a discussion between Professor Stefano Allievi, lawyer Marco Scarpati and Beppe Carletti on the phenomenon of migration and its cultural and human implications.
On the solidarity front, the Augusto per la Vita Association presented contributions to fund scholarships and experimental oncology laboratories in universities, continuing its ongoing commitment to supporting medical research.
A deeply moving moment marked the presentation of the ‘Uno come noi’ (One like us) award to the parents of Paolo Mendico, a victim of bullying, with a speech by Luca Massaccesi of the National Observatory on Bullying and Youth Distress. This award aims to keep attention focused on a social scourge that is too often underestimated.
The Nomad of the Year 2025 award went to Paralympic athlete Oney Tapia, a true symbol of resilience and willpower.
Before the final concert, the second of the event, the stage of the tent theatre hosted other young artists: Giulio Nicolosi, Indonesian singer Atuna, singer-songwriter Rioel and young Romagna-born Sveva. A valuable showcase for the future of Italian music, fully in line with the spirit of openness that has always distinguished the Nomadi.
THE CONCERT: A COLLECTIVE RITE WITHOUT AGE
The weekend ended with the highly anticipated live performance by Nomadi. In a familiar and intimate atmosphere, surrounded by the inevitable colourful banners from all over Italy, messages of affection and peace flags, the band performed the songs that have made the history of Italian pop-rock and need no introduction. The chorus of fans and the projection of images of Augusto onto the audience generated deep emotion inside the tent theatre.
What continues to amaze is the band’s tireless pace, which, with an average of around 90 dates per year in the two-year period 2024-2025, shows no signs of slowing down. Nomadi are looking ahead, having already set some dates for the first few months of 2027. An institution beyond music.
The enthusiasm and participation seen in Novellara confirm that Nomadi are not just a band, but a cultural and social institution capable of renewing itself while remaining faithful to its roots, giving its audience moments of rare depth. The enthusiasm and participation seen in Novellara confirm once again that Nomadi are not just a band. They are a cultural and social institution capable of renewing itself without betraying its roots, offering its audience moments of rare emotional and human depth. And Augusto Daolio, more than thirty years on, continues to be their compass.
See you at the next edition of NOMADINCONTRO 2027 to celebrate Augusto’s 80th birthday.
