Milan, June 7, 2026 — A sweltering Sunday—the kind typical of early summer in Milan—and a special venue, the courtyard of the Castello Sforzesco, provided the setting for one of the most eagerly awaited events for Radio Capital’s loyal listeners: Capital Live.
This isn’t the first edition of this festival, but this year was special because it marked the radio station’s 30th anniversary.
Once again, the event was part of the packed schedule of “Party like a Deejay,” Radio DeeJay’s annual festival that transforms Sempione Park and the Arco della Pace area into a massive open-air stage every year. Capital Live represented the event’s most intimate and refined spirit, hosting a succession of artists—rising stars and established names—from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, each introduced by the radio hosts in lineups mirroring the station’s programming schedule: the hosts served as the common thread of an afternoon that was both a celebration and a look toward the future.
The lineup called for each artist to perform one or more of their own songs and a cover of a track from the past thirty years, just like those on the radio.
Benny and Stefano Meloccaro—from Mezzo Giornale—kicked off the show alongside Betty Senatore, who, with their usual charm, introduced the rising star of Italian soul, Arya. The singer performed her song “Sono in un van” and then paid tribute to two giants of the genre with a rousing medley: “Didn’t Cha Know?” by Erykah Badu and “Thinkin Bout You” by Frank Ocean.
The baton was passed to Massimo Oldani and Irene Lamedica, who welcomed Alberto Fortis—long absent from the scene—back to the stage for his highly anticipated return. Fortis presented his new song “Vita ch’è Vita” and, as a classic cover, chose “Now and Then” by The Beatles, a perfect tribute.
Il Fattore C—the duo formed by Mary Cacciola and Flavia Cercato—introduced the young singer-songwriter Angelica Bove, who enchanted the audience with her highly personal version of Radiohead’s “No Surprises.”
Fabio Arboit, a longtime radio host, and Doris Zaccone introduced Dimartino, an established singer-songwriter performing here as a solo artist. The setlist included his new single “L’oro del fiume” and a heartfelt cover of “The Drugs Don’t Work” by The Verve.
Gigi Ariemma and Marco Biondi welcomed Birthh, who gave Capital Live a preview of his new single “Più in alto,” followed by a lively rendition of Katy Perry’s “I Kissed a Girl.”
A big moment for Santamarea, now among the artists most followed by younger audiences. Introduced by Lalaura and Fabio Canino of Miracolati, they performed their hit song “Tornado” and then a masterful version of “Teardrop” by Massive Attack, a performance that drew a special comment from Alessio Bertallot: the performance, he emphasized, was simply perfect.
As the stage was being set for the final act, Bertallot entertained the audience with his famous musical connections: songs that seem worlds apart but, by some magic, share a common spirit. It was a much-appreciated moment, the personal touch of a host capable of turning his musical exploration into a show.
The grand finale belonged to Bluvertigo, reunited and in top form. Morgan’s band closed out the afternoon with all the power of their visionary rock, confirming that they are, quite simply, what they are: unique.
Luca De Gennaro and Paolo Mixo wrapped up the evening from a narrative perspective, announcing the upcoming new date for Capital Jam—again at Castello Sforzesco, on June 12—a format already presented with great success last winter at Fabbrica del Vapore, also in Milan, across multiple sold-out or nearly sold-out dates. The musical accompaniment was also provided by an ensemble of exceptional musicians led by Maestro Cosma. The event, which will officially open the “Estate al Castello 2026” festival organized by the City of Milan, is another milestone in the celebrations for the radio station’s 30th anniversary, demonstrating that Capital does not wish to limit itself to celebrating the past, but continues to build the future.
Capital Live 2026 was, just as the radio station’s philosophy dictates, an event that brought together different musical worlds with a lighthearted yet cohesive touch. The free admission, the exceptional venue, the careful selection of artists, and the presence of nearly all the hosts confirmed that Radio Capital knows how to connect with its audience.
It was a great celebration, and the hope—shared by those present in the castle courtyard on that Sunday in June, as well as by listeners who were unable to make it to Milan—is that events like this and the Capital Jam will continue to find a place not only on the Milanese calendar but also in other cities and regions, because live music, when curated with such care, is timeless.
