Two women and a crime with an unexpected conclusion. Rosalyn, at the Sala Umberto Theatre with the compelling Marina Massironi and Alessandra Faiella, is a psychological noir comedy set in our days America. After the last year success, the performance is on the stage again, starting from Milan, moving to Rome until March 11th and then along Italy until April.
The murder’s discovery
Esther O’ Sullivan, a successful American writer, is accused by the Police of a crime committed some years before. To escape from accusation, she reminds her meeting with Rosalyn, an ungainly and helpless cleaner she knew the day she launched her book about the real self-nature. The heart of the show, you will discover at the end, is this, the self.
“My intention was to talk about the compressed and hidden lump, that everyone has inside, a bomb ready to blow up and break our fragile lives.”.
Edoardo Erba – Author
The psychological investigation displaces
Exciting, comical, rich of scene shot, a pressing writing, Rosalyn mines with irreverence into a hot area of our personality, that we modern occidental people prefer to hide: instinct and irrationality.
Very interesting audience reaction, who follows the passionate history, but they are astonished in front of the final reflections. There are no actions to reveal the thriller, but only a personal revelation, an epiphany. If Theatre is supposed to displace and reveal, Rosalyn is a good example of it.
“Rosalyn is a psychological thriller. Rosalyn displaces everyone. Rosalyn is when you think you understood everything but not, you didn’t understand anything. Rosalyn is a mirror play. Rosalyn is comical, but suddenly it becomes tragical.”
