Cinema, musica e cultura, torna a Roma Hip Hop Cinefest il 10 e 11 maggio

Al via venerdì 10 e sabato 11 maggio a Roma, la quarta edizione di Hip Hop Cinefest. L’unico evento italiano e uno dei cinque al mondo dedicato alle storie scritte, prodotte e dirette da amanti della cultura Hip Hop, passando per tutti i generi cinematografici compresi quelli sperimentali.

La forte vocazione internazionale dell’Hip Hop Cine Fest conferma l’evento come punto di incontro di culture e idee che arrivano da tutto il mondo. Come nelle passate edizioni, oltre alla proiezione delle opere cinematografiche selezionate, l’evento diventa un forum di discussione sui temi complessi della narrazione culturale attuale. La kermesse, nelle varie attività e azioni di cui si compone, è un laboratorio di creazione, condivisione, ispirazione e sperimentazione che si muove oltre le barriere geografiche, favorendo scambi artistici su scala globale.

L’Hip Hop Cine Fest esplora le intersezioni tra cinema, musica e le sfide culturali del nostro tempo, celebrando la ricchezza della cultura Hip-Hop e il suo impatto trasformativo nella società. Durante la due giorni, si terranno dibattiti e workshop, con una particolare attenzione ai processi educativi non formali dell’Hip-Hop come strumento pedagogico innovativo. Le categorie in gara includono documentari, fiction, video musicali, e opere sperimentali, sia lunghe che corte.

Per l’edizione 2024 sono stati selezionati 112 progetti provenienti da 26 paesi: 22 documentari lunghi, 19 documentari corti, 6 cortometraggi di finzione, 20 progetti sperimentali, 6 progetti web/seriali e 39 videoclip musicali.

Tra le opere in concorso i documentari: “Street Heroines” di Alexandra Henry dagli Stati Uniti, la celebrazione del lavoro di tre artiste latine attive nella scena dei graffiti tra NY, Città del Messico e San Paolo, e “Olossa” diretto da F.Randrianambinana, J.O.Tsibeny E M.A.Ramangason, un viaggio nella drill del Madagascar. Tra i progetti di finzione “The last Carreo” dal Perù di P.Malek, 24 ore nella vita di Lucho freestyler di Lima, un action tra contraddizioni e dura realtà. Tra i progetti sperimentali “The graffiti mistery” dalla Francia di C.Diaz, un progetto che esplora il lettering attraverso la settima arte; per i best of the web “Fazilona” di Z.Bandido, M.A.Verdiell, E.d.G.Koperuna, web serie dedicata alla scena delle fanzine di Barcellona. Tra i videoclip musicali “Survaival” del regista cubano A.V.D’Mente.

Per tutta la durata della manifestazione, sarà allestita una mostra d’arte curata dalla galleria Croma e una selezione espositiva dell’Italian Hip Hop Museum.  Tutti progetti selezionati saranno trasmessi in streaming gratuito sulla piattaforma filmocracy.com dal 29 aprile al 19 maggio.
