Francesco D'Amico è nato a Catania nel 1972, ultimo di cinque figli. A Roma dal '78, a dieci anni cantava nel coro polifonico della chiesa di S. Giuliano brani tratti dal repertorio rinascimentale (sacro e profano); suona la chitarra dal 1983. Attività: - Suona la chitarra elettrica (pop, rock, blues, funky, jazz) e acustica (classica, folk, latin); sa anche cantare, comporre ed arrangiare pop songs. Studi: - Per la chitarra classica si è diplomato (decimo anno) con 8.50 al conservatorio di Terni dopo aver studiato con il M° C. Carfagna e con il M° M. Delle Cese. - Ha studiato chitarra ed armonia anche in strutture quali: Saint Louis, UM, Mazzini 119, Accademia Romana di Musica, con diversi insegnanti fra i quali: U. Fiorentino, F. Mariani, B. Tommaso, A. D'Antò, A. Avena, M. Lazzaro, L. Piccinini. - Ha partecipato ai seguenti seminari: Berklee in Umbria con Jim Kelly; Steve Vai; Jennifer Batten; metodologia didattica Orff-schulwerk (riconosciuto dal ministero della pubblica istruzione). Dimostratore: - Con gli Emporium è stato dimostratore per la BOSE dei nuovi sistemi P.A.S. (personal amplification system), oltre ad altri prodotti della stessa casa.
