La bellezza è creata dal popolo, non c’è frase più centrata se non il dialogo della bellezza tra le popolazioni degli Egizi e degli etruschi a Roma. In mostra per la prima volta a Roma la vita, i costumi, la società, oggetti che ci richiamano ai commerci trascorsi tra queste due importanti civiltà passate. Anni fa fu mia zia Archeologa dell’Accademia dei Lincei a raccontarmi per prima di questo dialogo tra civiltà antiche, che mi viene confermato oggi in questa stupenda mostra,… gli studi e la storia vanno avanti nelle ricerche ogni giorno.

Ha aperto nel nuovo spazio per esposizioni temporanee della Centrale Montemartini una mostra che pone al suo centro il dialogo tra due grandi popoli del Mediterraneo gli Ezigi e gli Etruschi.
I curatori della mostra: Claudio Parisi Presicce, Simona Carosi, Antonella Magagnini e Alfonsina Russo archeologa e direttrice del parco archeologico del Colosseo, che ha seguito personalmente le ultime scoperte dell’antica Vulci, vicino a Roma, tra cui ritrovamenti del 2016 e 2017 importantissimi che hanno contribuito ad ingrandire i reperti già trovati nelle indagini precedenti, in particolare “la tomba dello scarabeo d’Oro” e la” Tomba della Mani d’Argento” del VIII secolo avanti Cristo. Il corredo funerario è stato rinvenuto nell’ambito dell’attività di contrasto agli scavi clandestini che quotidianamente impegnano il comando carabinieri Tutela Patrimonio Culturale insieme alla soprintendenza.

La mostra propone una visione nuova con un accostamento tra Egizi e Etruschi che avevano produzioni e ideologie molto vicine. La nascita, lo sviluppo e lo scambio di due tra le più grandi civiltà Mediterranee. Sono inoltre presentati al pubblico alcuni oggetti collezionati da grandi mecenati come Augusto Castellani, Giovanni Baracco e Eugene Berman che donarono delle cospicue raccolte al Comune di Roma.

In mostra sono esposti e messi a confronto preziosi oggetti trovati a Vulci risalenti al VIII-VII secolo a.C. e al III secolo a.C. Tantissimi magnifici oggetti archeologici ritrovati in questi sontuosi corredi funerari hanno delle particolarità che ci portano davvero a pensare ad un dialogo continuo tra gli Etruschi e gli Egizi come lo scarabeo o la coppa proveniente da Alessandria (sembra quasi del periodo Elisabettiano) ritrovati a Vulci.

Dall’ingresso in ordine cronologico di date troviamo prima una descrizione di volumi e reperti con bellissimi tessuti, poi le splendide maschere funerarie messe vicino ai volti di antefisse etrusche in terracotta. Nella Sala troviamo i due sepolcri principeschi del VII secolo avanti Cristo e nel dettaglio tutti i ritrovamenti, raramente si sono ritrovati oggetti, visto che spesso le tombe venivano saccheggiate nel tempo. Tutto molto descrittivo e decisamente esplicativo per grandi e piccoli. La mostra è divisa in cinque sezioni: l’oro, il metallo degli Dei, la regalità orientale e la sua percezione nel mondo, la vita dopo la morte, e infine i profumi e cosmetici che dimostrano la parte commerciale che intrattenevano le due popolazioni. Per i più giovani sono state riprodotti delle maschere che ci parlano e ci descrivono l’epoca in digitale.

Una mostra più unica che rara e devo dire l’eccellenza a Roma all’interno del Museo Centrale Montemartini che già accoglie una bellissima collezione Greco e Romana.

Eugene Berman pittore, illustratore e scenografo russo, ma anche collezionista d’arte; I reperti presenti sono quelli che acquistò durante i suoi viaggi in Egitto tra il 1964 e il 1965 ed essendosi stabilito a Roma, nel 1972, alla sua morte, donò, insieme al resto della collezione, allo Stato Italiano e per esso alla Soprintendenza per i Beni archeologici dell’Etruria meridionale.
