Il 2020 per alcuni aspetti è stato caratterizzato dalle note, quelle della musica che ci ha fatto compagnia in casa e ha mostrato come un balcone può diventare anche un palco. E ci ha fatto conoscere meglio le tante professioni che si occupano di musica, a supporto di un cantante, o pe la realizzazione di un disco e di un concerto, ad esempio. Abbiamo capito che la musica si crea insieme, un dialogo con tanti e diversi profili professionali e che la tecnologia può far diventare i concerti una nuova esperienza.

Maker Music lo spazio dedicato all’interno dell’ottava edizione di Maker Faire Rome – European Edition 2020 racconta questo mondo.

Racconta il making della musica: talk, workshop e sessioni in studio di registrazione per illustrare il processo di creazione, dall’idea all’esibizione dal vivo. Come manipola il suono un produttore discografico? Come riesce un cantante a trovare le parole esatte in cui milioni di persone si ritrovano? Esiste una musica sostenibile? L’intelligenza artificiale è in grado di scrivere successi pop? Alla scoperta del come si fa la musica e di cosa la musica può fare con gli incontri online con artisti, professionisti e pensatori, tra cui Max Casacci, Samuel, Boosta, Arisa, Boss Doms, Frankie Hi NRG, Coccoluto, Piotta, Riccardo Sinigallia, Andrea De Sica, Paola Maugeri, Clementino, Samuele Bersani, ENSI, Cristina Scabbia, Noyz Narcos, Francesca Michielin, Danno (Colle del Fomento), Vasco Brondi, Mace, Stefano Fontana, Saturnino, Cosmo e molti altri ci guideranno. Tra i diversi incontri e le performance in programma domenica 13 dicembre alle ore 20.30: in scena il primo concerto per Pianoforte, Intelligenza Artificiale, Umani e Networks: *remote duet*.

In due distinte location, lontani chilometri di distanza, i due musicisti Paolo Buonvino, e Alex Braga duetteranno dal vivo in tempo reale grazie all’intelligenza artificiale. Definita come prima performance in remoto a latenza zero seppur a distanza attraverso l’intelligenza artificiale potranno suonare insieme e improvvisare come se fossero nella stessa stanza.

Le note del pianoforte di Paolo Buonvino – uno dei più noti e pluripremiati autori di colonne sonore – saranno orchestrate in tempo reale, ma a distanza da Alex Braga attraverso l’uso dell’intelligenza artificiale A-MINT, creata dallo stesso Braga con i professori Francesco Riganti e Antonino Laudani: le note saranno restituita “aumentata” al pubblico ed al pianista stesso, innescando con lui un iperloop creativo che cresce nota dopo nota, frase dopo frase, fino a colmare con le emozioni della musica la distanza fisica che li separa. Una metafora del mondo moderno, iperconnesso ma sempre iperdistante, e un grido di allarme su quanto siano essenziali il senso della vita e le emozioni per tenerci.

“Questa collaborazione mi offre l’occasione di riflettere sul rapporto tra uomo e macchina, afferma Paolo Buonvino. La tecnologia è fondamentale per il mio lavoro, ma mi accorgo che troppo spesso ne siamo tutti quanti oppressi e fagocitati. Insieme ad Alex racconterò questo abuso e il deserto che spesso l’iperconnesione può creare fuori e dentro di noi. La musica aiuta l’uomo ad amare, dice l’etnomusicologo John Blacking: facciamo diventare la tecnologia un mezzo per potenziare questa capacità”.
