Il salone di Ginevra del 2020 rimarrà di certo nella storia dell’automobile…perché per la prima volta un evento di questo genere si svolgerà online. Proprio in questi giorni sarebbe dovuta andare in scena l’edizione numero 90 della manifestazione più importante dell’anno nel mondo delle quattroruote. Questa purtroppo non ha avuto luogo a causa dell’ormai noto coronavirus.

Per fortuna molte case automobilistiche non si sono perse d’animo e hanno dato il via al primo salone digitale della storia. Un’iniziativa che fa bene a tutti, perché oltre a dare un segnale di “normalità” in questo periodo in cui si parla solo di contagi, porta sul mercato dell’automobile grandi novità, anche sul fronte elettrico.

Protagonista indiscussa di questo “salone digitale” è senza dubbio l’azienda italiana Alfa Romeo.

La casa italiana nella giornata dedicata alla presentazioni svela il suo nuovo mostro V6 biturbo da ben 540 cavalli!

Alfa Giulia GTA, un esemplare ancora più estremo della già sportiva Giulia quadrifoglio. GTA è il nuovo acronimo della Giulia che significa: Gran Turismo Alleggerita. Erano ormai 15 anni che mancava questa sigla nella casa del biscione, e finalmente si ritrova su una versione che lascia davvero senza fiato solo a guardarla.

Il modello presentato della Giulia si declina in due versioni: la GTA e la GTAm (Gran Turismo Alleggerita modificata), entrambe a tiratura limitata di 500 esemplari.

Condividono inoltre lo stesso motore potenziato della quadrifoglio che sviluppa ora 540 cavalli e che, grazie al diffuso utilizzo di componenti in fibra di carbonio e materiali super leggeri, si è riusciti ad alleggerire di ben 100 kg.

Tutte queste attenzioni regalano alla Giulia un rapporto peso-potenza davvero eccezionale, il migliore della categoria che le permette di scattare da 0 a 100 in appena 3,6 secondi.

A questi numeri da capogiro si aggiungono degli altri accorgimenti sia estetici, come la carreggiata allargata di 50 mm per una miglior tenuta di strada, sia aereodinamici. In particolare l’aereodinamica attiva è stata migliorata tantissimo grazie al know-how che Alfa Romeo ha acquisto in questi anni dalle gare in formula 1.

Uno degli elementi immancabili, che fanno più emozionare su una super car come questa sono senza dubbio i due bellissimi scarichi in titanio posti al centro dell’estrattore e firmati akrapovic. Questi fanno urlare fino al limitatore il potentissimo V6 biturbo, regalando una timbrica eccezionale.

Nella versione GTAm Alfa ha deciso di creare un vero e proprio mostro mangia cordoli. La macchina è stata infatti progettata interamente per la pista, ma nonostante questo è omologata per strada. L’estremizzazione della vettura si può subito notare al posteriore dov’è presente un importante alettone, ma soprattutto nell’abitacolo. All’interno mancano completamene i sedili posteriori, sostituiti da un roll-bar per dare ancora più rigidezza torsionale all’auto. La Giulia è quindi due posti secchi con cinture a 6 punti, proprio come una macchina da gara.

Una curiosità: su questo nuovo modello Alfa ha deciso di regalare a tutti i fortunati proprietari di questi 500 esemplari casco e tuta da auto nella speciale livrea GTA.

Mettendo per un attimo da parte dati tecnici e caratteristiche dell’auto, vorrei fare una riflessione sul senso di questa vettura. È senza dubbio una macchina esclusiva, riservata per pochi a causa della produzione limitata e del prezzo proibitivo (sebbene ancora non sia stato svelato si stima superi i 100mila euro). Ebbene sono proprio queste caratteristiche a rendere importante, in un momento come quello che sta passando oggi Alfa Romeo, il lancio di un modello di questo tipo.

La casa lombarda nel corso degli anni ha perso quel senso di “esclusività” e sportività che la contraddistingueva, cercando sempre più di rincorrere i nuovi modelli di auto tedesche.

Si sentiva quindi un’assoluta necessità di rievocare nella memoria di tutti, appassionati e non, l’origine e la storia di un marchio italiano che ha fatto la storia dell’automobilismo mondiale.

Il biscione non poteva scegliere modo migliore per effettuare questa operazione se non creando un’auto che fosse degna di poter richiamare la storica sigla GTA. Alfa infatti sin dal 1965 utilizza questo acronimo come sinonimo di velocità pura, sportività estrema ed eleganza senza tempo. Tutte caratteristiche che hanno sempre reso uniche e speciali le vetture prodotte dall’azienda italiana che hanno contribuito, ed ancora oggi contribuiscono, a rendere ogni italiano orgoglioso del “made in italy” nel mondo.
