La scena di spogliarello è talmente famosa dall’essere stata omaggiata in molti film, tra cui ricordiamo la scena molto ironica diretta da Robert Altman in Prêt-à-porter.

Mara e Augusto

Mara è una squillo d’alto bordo che abita in un appartamento all’ultimo piano in Piazza Navona a Roma. Il bolognese Augusto (Marcello Mastroianni) è un cliente affezionato. Umberto (Giovanni Ridolfi), nipote seminarista dell’anziana dirimpettaia (Tina Pica), si invaghisce di Mara senza essere a conoscenza della sua professione di prostituta. Mara inizialmente fa finta di nulla, ma quando si accorge che Umberto vuole di abbandonare gli studi del seminario per seguire l’amore, la nonna che si reca piangendo da Mara per comunicarle l’intenzione del giovane. La squillo riesce quindi a convincere Umberto consigliandogli di non lasciare glio studi e seguire la sua vocazione. Alla fine tutto va a finire per il meglio e rimasta sola con Augusto, Mara si esibisce per lui in un sensuale spogliarello, senza però andare oltre…

Sophia Loren e Marcello Mastroianni

“I due hanno interpretato insieme ben 14 film, nel primo dei quali, la commedia di ambiente navale “Cuori sul mare”(1950), la sedicenne Sophia è semplice comparsa, ancora col suo cognome Scicolone. Nel 1954 il celebre regista Alessandro Blasetti assegna ai due, che stanno iniziando a godere di una certa popolarità, i ruoli di protagonisti in due diversi episodi della raccolta “Tempi nostri”, quindi, intuendone le potenzialità, subito dopo li unisce come coppia di primattori nel grande successo “Peccato che sia una canaglia”(1954), con Mastroianni ingenuo tassista e la Loren splendida truffatrice, affiancati da Vittorio De Sica per un trio che il grande regista crea ed esalta. Sull’onda del successo, l’anno seguente Mario Camerini affida ai due “La bella mugnaia”, gustoso rifacimento del suo classico “Cappello a tre punte”, di vent’anni prima; mentre con più veemenza e intelligenza Blasetti ripete il suo schema vincente con “La fortuna di essere donna”(1956), ricco di ammiccamenti al film precedente: “Siamo andati a rubare qualche volta insieme?” risponde la bellissima Antonietta (Sophia Loren) al fotografo Corrado (Marcello Mastroianni) che vuole lanciarla nel cinema e le dà del tu.
Nel 1957 Sophia si lega scandalosamente al grande produttore Carlo Ponti, di vent’anni più vecchio di lei e in odore di bigamia in un periodo in cui in Italia il divorzio non esiste. Il produttore le costruisce una grande carriera, tanto da farla arrivare all’Oscar nel 1961 con “La ciociara”, diretto ancora una volta dal sommo Vittorio De Sica. A quel punto lei e Mastroianni, reduce dal successo mondiale de “La Dolce Vita”(1960) di Federico Fellini, sono gli attori italiani più celebri al mondo, all’apice della loro fama, e nel 1963 Ponti allestisce con De Sica regista uno straordinario volano di celebrità per la moglie e per il divo per eccellenza della “dolce vita” con “Ieri, oggi, domani”, tre episodi ambientati a Napoli, Milano e Roma per una Sophia bellissima e in grande spolvero affiancata da un Marcello perfetto e irresistibile soprattutto nell’ultimo episodio nei panni del figlio dell’industriale bolognese vessato continuamente dal padre. Il film passa alla storia per la celebre scena dello spogliarello della Loren, sotto gli occhi increduli di Mastroianni, nel terzo episodio e porta a Ponti, a De Sica e ad entrambi gli attori l’Oscar come miglior film straniero: un trionfo senza precedenti. Il grande successo del terzetto delle meraviglie Mastroianni-Loren-De Sica si conferma l’anno dopo con “Matrimonio all’italiana”, tratto dalla commedia di Eduardo De Filippo “Filumena Marturano”, per riprendere cinque anni dopo ne “I girasoli”, non riuscitissimo melò dove una donna ritrova con una famiglia nuova il marito creduto disperso in Russia, che segue “Questi fantasmi” del 1967, sempre tratto da un testo di Eduardo De Filippo, dove però Marcello fa un breve cameo, e i protagonisti sono Vittorio Gassman e Sophia Loren. Ne “La moglie del prete”(1971) Dino Risi tenta la carta dello scandalo raccontando la relazione tra una tentata suicida e un prete del telefono amico, in quello che viene considerato uno dei meno riusciti film della coppia, mentre nel 1975 con “La pupa del gangster” di Capitani i due tentano la strada del film noir.
Nel 1977, invece, con “Una giornata particolare” i due attori con la guida di Ettore Scola rasentano la perfezione, dando luogo a una delle loro interpretazioni più mature, intense e lontane dai loro clichè, dipingendo il ritratto di un omosessuale che ha perso il lavoro a causa del fascismo e di una casalinga dominata dal marito, superficialmente affascinata da Mussolini e che, grazie all’amicizia con l’uomo suo vicino di casa, impara ad ampliare i propri orizzonti. Un film esemplare per una coppia esemplare, che fece incetta di riconoscimenti nazionali ed internazionali, oltre ad un grande successo di pubblico in sala. La pellicola ottenne due nominations all’Oscar, come miglior film straniero e a Marcello Mastroianni come miglior attore protagonista; il Golden Globe come miglior film straniero al regista Ettore Scola; a Sophia Loren sia il Nastro d’argento che il David di Donatello come miglior attrice protagonista, e tanti altri premi e nominations nazionali e internazionali.”
