Oggi vi invito a seguirci in una passeggiata domenicale, tra bici, cavalli e le meraviglie del verde, alla scoperta di piante selvatiche che non solo arricchiscono questo paesaggio, ma che hanno anche proprietà sorprendenti.

La nostra passeggiata inizia all’altezza della Villa di Massenzio, un sito che, con la sua bellezza senza tempo, offre uno scenario perfetto per il mio incontro con Wateki Taliana Tobert, una guida botanica appassionata che ci accompagnerà in questa esplorazione verde. Le Piante Selvatiche sull’Appia Antica: Un Patrimonio da Scoprire

Durante il nostro cammino, ci sono numerose piante che catturano l’attenzione, molte delle quali sono commestibili e hanno proprietà curative. Eccone alcune che abbiamo incontrato:

  1. Borsa del pastore (Capsella bursa-pastoris) – Pianta usata in caso di mestruazioni abbondanti. Emostatica e vasocotrittrice. Cicatrizzante- si usa in infuso o tintura madre

  2. Borragine (Borago officinalis) – l’olio di borragine è un vero e proprio elisir di benessere e bellezza per la pelle dove svolge spiccate proprietà antiossidanti, nutrienti, emollienti, rigeneranti e lenitive. Le foglie si possono mangiare cotte.

  3. Ombrellini pugliesi (Tordylium apulum) – viene usata come aromatica in cucina e pasticceria

  4. Silene alba (Silene alba) – La Silene è dedicata alla dea della Luna e viene impollinata dalle farfalle notturne. Le suo foglie sono commestibili cotte prima di fioritura.

  5. Lingua di cane (Cynoglossum spp) – tossica ma con i fiori belli

  6. Fumaria (Fumaria officinalis) – pianta che viene utilizzata in omeopatia e apicoltura

  7. Caglio asprello (Galium aparine) – antispasmodica, astringente, vulneraria, ipotensiva, antiflogistica e sudorifera, utile in caso di affezioni cutanee, e manifestazioni dolorose soprattutto di natura nervosa. Agisce prioritariamente sul sistema linfatico.

  8. Ortica membranosa (Urtica membranacea) – una pianta che viene usata come commestibile e medicinale da tutti nazioni del mondo.

  9. Becco di gru muschiato (Erodium moschatum) – si chiama così per la forma dei frutti, simili al becco dell’airone; la pianta è caratterizzata dall’aroma di muschio.

  10. Cardo mariano (Silybum marianum) – Le principali proprietà sono: epatoprotettrice, depurativo e disintossicante, antiossidante, digestivo, ipertensivo (alza la pressione sanguigna) e leggermente spasmolitico ed antiemorragico

  11. Erba calenzola (Euphorbia helioscopia) – pianta velenosa con lattice caustico. La medicina popolare indica questa pianta per la cura di sciatica, artrite, pleurite e verruche. Pianta resistente, onnipresente e facilmente riconoscibile, nota per il suo succo bianco, che può causare irritazioni cutanee. Tossica se ingerita.

  12. Occhi della Madonna (Veronica persica) – questa pianta, spesso scambiata per “Non ti scordar di me”, è commestibile e medicinale.

  13. Piattello (Hypochaeris radicata) – pianta dalle foglie piatte e carnose e i fiori gialli, viene popolarmente mangiata in pastella.

  14. Pratolina autunnale (Bellis sylvestris) – è una pratolina simile alla pratolina comune ma molto più alta e con i fiori molto più grandi e vistosi, si incintra solo in alcuni parchi di Roma.

  15. Sedano selvatico (Smyrnium olusatrum) – I romani in antichità la consumavano in insalate di giovani foglie e di getti sia cotti che crudi; di sapore amarognolo con proprietà stimolanti e digestive. I semi hanno proprietà antispasmodiche, mentre il succo della pianta può essere impiegato come disinfettante per le ferite
