Dal 10 al 12 novembre in Italia la Giornata Mondiale dell’Usabilità con WUDRome a Roma, Milano, Parma e Bari
Dal Gender Gap ai Dati. Un altro web è possibile?

Fiducia, Etica e Integrità: nell’anno in cui più che mai è emerso quanto un semplice algoritmo possa condizionare il pensiero di massa, andando a incidere sull’immaginario collettivo e sulle reazioni razionali e irrazionali che le persone possono sviluppare rispetto ai fenomeni sociali su scala locale e globale, il World Usability Day – Giornata mondiale dell’usabilità in oltre 43 paesi in tutto il mondo, riassume la sua sedicesima edizione in questi tre concetti cardine.

Trust, Ethics, Integrity: qual è la responsabilità che il mondo del digitale ha rispetto alla società civile, ossia all’utente finale di un prodotto? È possibile pensare e progettare un mondo digitale, connesso, interattivo in cui i nostri stessi dati non diventino poi merce o peggio ancora tracciabilità di pensiero e di movimento per condizionare le nostre azioni?

In poche parole: dal Gender Gap ai dati, un altro web (e non solo) è possibile?

Designer e persone esperte di tutto il mondo ne parleranno e progetteranno in occasione della Giornata Mondiale dell’Usabilità (che dal 2005 si svolge il secondo giovedì di novembre) e in Italia si incontreranno per discuterne al WUDRome 2021 dal 10 al 12 novembre. Dopo l’edizione 2020 totalmente online, nel 2021 oltre a proporre una formula ibrida e integrata, trasformerà per la prima volta l’appuntamento capitolino del World Usability Day in un evento diffuso e dislocato tra Roma, Milano, Bari, Parma, con una tappa a Manno (Svizzera): 5 hub tra loro connessi per una no-stop di 3 giorni per ripensare il futuro e riflettere sul presente.

Tanti ospiti per una full immersion di formazione, innovazione e networking con workshop, talk e case study in cui si esploreranno i Design System che aiutano le persone nella loro quotidianità: in particolare si entrerà nel cuore del discorso già il 10 novembre con l’appuntamento coordinato da Andrea Caporale di Microsoft dal titolo “How to share data without sharing data”, un focus sull’etica della condivisione e della mercificazione dei dati dal micro al macro contesto; approfondimento sull’etica anche con “Ethics Framework” a cura di Manuele Forcucci e Francesco Paradiso.

Al WUDRome, l’11 novembre spazio anche a riflessioni e proposte per l’inclusività della tecnologia con Francesca Fedeli, anche TED speaker, e Andrea Cardillo di Microsoft con il talk “Come comunicare in modo inclusivo, anche con la tecnologia”. Sul tema tornerà anche Federico Rivera di Sketchin con “Verso un approccio inclusivo alla progettazione”.

Ancora spazio alle donne, ma anche all’attualità, durante la giornata finale il 12 novembre con, tra gli ospiti, Leila Belhadj Mohamed e il focus “Taliban found biometric database from US Army: and now, what?”: un appuntamento specifico che partirà dall’accesso al database biometrico dell’esercito statunitense in Afghanistan da parte dei talebani per poi estendere il discorso alla crucialità della gestione dei dati personali in un mondo sempre più connesso.

 

“Internet ha completamente rivoluzionato il modo in cui le persone vivono negli ultimi decenni” spiega Carlo FrinolliCEO e Co-founder di WUDRome “abbattendo le distanze, dando forma a nuove possibilità e presentando nuove sfide. Dalle riunioni di lavoro alle visite mediche, molte delle nostre attività quotidiane, come il modo di lavorare, i sistemi di prenotazione per accedere ai servizi o le nuove forme di socializzazione, sono diventate virtuali. Il design deve rispondere alle esigenze derivanti da un sistema di emergenza e adattarsi al nostro modo di vivere attuale. Ora ci troviamo di fronte alle sfide della progettazione per il nostro mondo online. Da qui nasce e si sviluppa il tema 2021: un approfondimento del mondo digitale e dell’importanza del ruolo del design in fatto di fiducia, etica e integrità.”

Dietro al modo in cui ci relazioniamo con la tecnologia, con i computer o con le app c’è sempre chi ha pensato all’uso che di quella tecnologia avremmo fatto. Da progettista ne ha studiato l’usabilità per anticipare i nostri bisogni, pensando a come, con quanta frequenza e dove avremmo utilizzato quel servizio. Questa si chiama usability e proprio alla usabilità è dedicata una giornata mondiale, il World Usability Day, che chiama a raccolta le future idee del progettare da ogni parte del globo.
Dal 2005, il secondo giovedì di novembre, sono stati più di 200 gli eventi organizzati in oltre 43 paesi del mondo per celebrare la Giornata mondiale dell’usabilità. WUD nasce su iniziativa dell’Associazione Professionisti dell’Usabilità (UXPA) e viene portato a Roma per la prima volta nel 2014 da NOIS3 – Experience Design Agency per sensibilizzare e formare persone del settore digitale e non su strumenti e problematiche centrali per la ricerca, lo sviluppo e la pratica di una buona usabilità. NOIS3 è uno dei punti di riferimento nazionali sulle tematiche di User experience e progettazione Human-centered; ha creato negli anni una community verticale che diventa sempre più attiva e ampia. Il team interdisciplinare pratica un approccio di Co-design, progettando fin dalla ricerca con utenti e stakeholder, per sviluppare prodotti e servizi con al centro i reali bisogni delle persone.
