Così è…se vi pare, un classico di Pirandello, è in scena al teatro Nino Manfredi di Ostia dal 31 gennaio al 12 febbraio 2017.

L’importante cast, diretto da Claudio Boccaccini, è composto da Felice Della Corte (Direttore del Teatro Manfredi),  Laura Lattuada, Riccardo Barbera, Paolo Perinelli,  Andrea Bizzarri, Giancarlo Fares (che la prossima settimana salirà ancora il palco del Manfredi, stavolta con Emigranti) Martina Zuccarello e l’istrionico Pietro De Silva (il Bartolomeo ne  “La vita è bella”, il commissario Boris Giuliano che fu ucciso per mano di mafia e che interpreta in una fiction di grande successo “Il capo dei capi”. Ma anche il chirurgo di “Non ti muovere” per la regia di Sergio Castellitto o l’architetto anarchico ne “L’ora di religione” di Marco Bellocchio fino al tossicodipendente interpretato nel film “Henry” di Alessandro Piva.  Inoltre per la serie “i delitti del BarLume” nel telefilm “Aria di mare”  interpreta un pianista non vedente, un personaggio molto affascinante, e particolarmente ambiguo).

Come ha detto il Presidente del Teatro Manfredi, Luciano Colantoni, si tratta di un classico senza tempo che nella messa in scena di Boccaccini ne vengono esaltati gli aspetti da thriller con un particolare accento sulla comicità insita al testo stesso.

La trama è ambientata agli inizi del Novecento ed è tratta dalla novella “La signora Frola e il Signor Ponza suo genero”.

In una città di provincia arrivano tre nuovi cittadini, reduci dalla perdita di tutti i loro parenti a seguito di un terribile terremoto, che ha raso al suolo la città in cui vivevano. Lui, il signor Ponza, si stabilisce con la moglie in un appartamento in periferia, affittando per la suocera, la signora Frola, un piccolo appartamento in centro. Tutti gli abitanti della cittadina si domandano in modo sempre più insistente per quale motivo i tre, da forestieri quali sono, non vivano assieme e costruiscono una serie di situazioni per interrogare in proposito genero e suocera: la moglie/figlia infatti non esce mai e non riceve in casa neanche sua madre, che la saluta dalla finestra e le manda tramite un “panierino” lettere quotidiane. I due personaggi vengono interrogati dai cittadini curiosi riuniti, in una sorta di “giuria popolare”, nella casa del prefetto; riportano versioni opposte, inconciliabili, che lasciano gli astanti perplessi, increduli, desiderosi in modo sempre più spasmodico di conoscere la Verità. L’unica soluzione sembra essere quella di convocare nel “tribunale popolare” anche la figlia/moglie, l’unica detentrice della verità, l’unica che deve necessariamente confermare la versione di uno e smentire quella dell’altro. E il dramma si chiude con l’ingresso sulla scena (il salotto, ambiente borghese per definizione) della figlia/moglie, velata e solenne, che conferma e smentisce entrambe le versioni, affermando alla fine, nell’ultima memorabile battuta, di non essere nessuna per se stessa, ma di essere “colei che mi si crede”. Come a dire: non esiste una verità, ne esistono tante quante sono le letture della realtà che ciascuno di noi può fare.

I due personaggi davvero centrali di questo dramma non sono, come potrebbe credersi, i due protagonisti. Sono, invece, il gruppo dei concittadini uniti dalla curiosità e dalla credenza che debba necessariamente esistere una Verità rassicurante, da una parte; e Lamberto Laudisi, scettico spettatore di ciò che avviene sulla scena, fratello della padrona di casa (la moglie del Consigliere comunale), dall’altra. I concittadini, sempre più numerosi, disposti sul palco in assetto da corte marziale, incalzano con le loro domande ed elaborano le loro riflessioni, dandosi torto o ragione a vicenda e collocandosi in due partiti nettamente separati: a favore o contro la signora Frola o il signor Ponza. La risata di Laudisi, d’altra parte, chiude ogni atto; si tratta di una risata sarcastica, di scherno rispetto alle credenze del pubblico/giuria, che sente di dover esercitare la giustizia popolare facendo luce su una situazione che, in quanto contraddittoria, non può che prevedere la follia o del genero o della suocera. Laudisi, invece, che spesso parla con se stesso allo specchio (l’unico che sembra in grado di ‘riflettere’ davvero), si mette nella posizione – è facile identificarla con quella di Pirandello – di chi non solo non giudica personalmente, ma non ritiene neanche giusto che siano gli altri a giudicare ciò che non può essere univocamente interpretato come vero.
