A unique event – high impact and cultural significance – which includes numerous appointments with the most important interpreters of the Polish art scene exceptionally gathered in Rome. Various locations will host concerts, shows and projections, which make this rich and important event.

Wroclaw full of culture (Wroclaw pelen kultury), says the claim of the Polish city that will be European Capital of Culture in 2016, a title shared with the Spanish Donostia-San Sebastián. And Rome will be full of Wroclaw in Poland a course entirely devoted to its illustrious artists and authors of today and the past.
They will be on stage: Agata Zubel and Joonas Ahonen Dream Lake in concert with music by Witold Lutoslawski, Luciano Berio and Andrzej Czajkowski; the poetry of Tadeusz Rozewicz and the theater of Jerzy Grotowski; the shows and the chants of Theatre ZAR; electronic music duo Skalpel and, for the Music Festival, the Jazz Baldych Adam and Pawel Kaczmarczyk.

With a focus on theater at the Festival will be celebrating the 250th anniversary of the Public Theater in Polish – a history and a cultural and invaluable importance for Poland, which began in 1765 with the first public performance of a theater company created to initiative of King Stanislaw August Poniatowski and become active National Theatre until today.
Festival events will be held at the Polish, as well as the European Space managed by information in Italy of the European Parliament and the European Commission Representation in Italy, the House of Literature, the Monk, the Teatro India , the Basilica of Santa Maria in Cosmedin and the Casa del Jazz. Robert Cieslak (professor of literature, theatrical and literary critic, journalist) and director Andrzej Sapija.

Saturday, June 13th – from 23:00 at the Monk Circolo ARCI (address: Via Giuseppe Mirri 35. Roma. +39 06 6485 0987. www.monkroma.club), the legendary duo Skalpel formed by Marcin Cichy and Igor Pudlo, will be the star of LIVE Skalpel and vj Luminator.

Monday, June 15 from 18.00 at the Polish Institute of Rome, on the occasion of the 250 YEARS OF PUBLIC THEATRE IN POLAND will take place the evening tribute to Jerzy Grotowski, with the presentation of the 2nd volume of the writings of Jerzy Grotowski Texts 1965-1969. The poor theater with the participation of Italian and Polish experts. At 20:00, opening of the exhibition Dust / Apocalypsis cum Figuris in the photographs of Maurizio Buscarino. During the concert of liturgical songs Armenian members of Teatr ZAR along with Aram, Virginia and Vahan Kerovpyan, founder of the Research Center of Liturgical Song Armenian and AKN Group in Paris and with the participation of Murat Içlinalç, will present the results of their experimental work , the result of an “immersion” in the world of modal music.

It returns to Teatro India from Saturday 20 to Monday, June 22 (21.00), with the extraordinary performers of TEATRO ZAR protagonists of Armine, Sister, a show dedicated to the history and culture of the Armenian people and the tragedy of its genocide.

Tadeusz Różewicz, prose writer and playwright, one of the greatest Polish poets, tied for the most of life to the city of Wrocław, in Rome dedicated one of his most beautiful works – A death between old decorations (by Silvano De Fanti, Forum , 2011). A year after his death, prof. Luigi Marinelli (professor of Polish literature at the University “La Sapienza”), prof. Robert Cieślak (professor of literature, theatrical and literary critic, journalist) and director Andrzej Sapija will remember the place that welcomed him during his last visit to Rome. Armine, Sister (90 ‘) – Performance of Teatr ZAR Wrocław, directed by Jarosław Fret, is dedicated to the history and culture of the Armenian people and the tragedy of its genocide. Thanks to the five years of cooperation with Aram Kerovpyan, Armenian born in Istanbul and conductor of the choir in the Armenian Cathedral of Paris, the Theatre ZAR presents modal singing in a new form of musical drama. In closing the course Poland in 2015, in the splendid setting of the park’s House of Jazz will play Adam Bałdych – violin and Paweł Kaczmarczyk – piano. Starting with their limitless artistic possibilities, the two prominent musicians of the young Polish jazz scene (Bałdych winner is, among other things, ECHO Jazz 2013, Kaczmarczyk accounts for the label ACT Music) develop their improvisations in the search for new techniques and consonance. And it is the Festival of Music!
