Al Complesso del Vittoriano a Roma dal 2 marzo 2018, ha aperto la mostra che ripercorre la carriera di Liu Bolin, l’artistadi origine cinese, famoso del camouflage, dal titolo” the invisible man”- “l’uomo invisibile”- per via delle sue performance di mimetizzazione nell’ambiente.

La mostra personale dell’artista di fama internazionale Liu Bolin presenta sculture, fotografie e performer oltre 80 opere, dell’esposizione prodotta e organizzata da Arthemisia, in collaborazione con la Galleria Boxart e curata da Raffaele Gavarro.

Liu Bolin diventa celebre grazie a questa idea della mimetizzazione negli ambienti fotografati che vediamo presenti nelle sue opere. La sua carriera artistica inizia nel 2005, l’amministrazione di Pechino ordina l’eliminazione del quartiere Suojia Village sede di molti artisti contrari al governo, Bolin decide così di mimetizzarsi con le macerie del suo studio. Una protesta silenziosa e sociale, con caratteri propri e autentici, oltre che un mezzo di denuncia della censura e di critica alla politica che continua nel tempo. Si farà cosi immortalare in fotografie che faranno il giro del mondo con un grandissimo successo.

Nell’Ala Brasini del Museo potete ammirare una serie di scatti realizzati nel 2017: come i marmi dell’Anfiteatro Flavio, le forme della Reggia di Caserta, insieme a 70 fotografie frutto di dieci anni di lavoro: tra gli sfondi delle sue performance, che coniugano pittura, fotografia e arti plastiche, due templi della lirica come il Teatro alla Scala di Milano e l’Arena di Verona, nonché capolavori dell’arte quali la statua di Paolina Bonaparte Borghese di Antonio Canova, gli affreschi di Pompei, la magia di Venezia.

Bolin oggi si fa fotografare davanti ai monumenti più importanti del mondo, in mezzo alla natura, tra negozi e nella folla, oggi suo tratto distintivo artistico. Rimanendo immobile come una scultura vivente integra il suo corpo con il contesto alle sue spalle e grazie a un accurato body-painting e si fa fotografare. Le immagini sono semplici e ironiche, portatrici di messaggi sociali e culturali. Bolin testimonia in silenzio ciò che accade nel suo presente, in un tempo sospeso tra il peso della storia e le conseguenze del progresso. Oggi l’artista è un icona per alcuni grandi brand.

La mostra a Roma al Complesso del Vittoriano dura fino al 1° luglio 2018. Con il patrocinio della Regione Lazio e Roma Capitale – Assessorato alla Crescita culturale e quello della Fondazione Italia Cina. Sponsor Generali Italia, sponsor tecnico Trenitalia. L’evento è consigliato da Sky Arte HD.
