Cassio è una leggenda qui a Monti . Lui è un uomo molto bello , piacevole e affascinante , che ha dedicato la sua vita all’arte del mosaico .

L’ho incontrato in una giornata di sole nel suo negozio pieno di mosaici , strumenti e persone concentrate sul loro lavoro .

– Come hai scoperto questa passione per i mosaici ?

Beh , sono nato tra i mosaici , l’attività iniziata con mio nonno e poi mio padre era direttore della Scuola Vaticana di mosaici . Ho imparato tutto da loro , poi , crescendo ho cominciato ad usare nuove tecniche e materiali, ma la base rimane nel tradizionale arte del mosaico romano .

– Che cosa fa esattamente il tuo lavoro consiste? Vuoi creare nuovi mosaici , ripristinare quelle vecchie o che altro?

Faccio tutto questo . Prima di tutto ho lavorato , nel corso degli anni , in molti antichi restauri del mosaico romano, tra le esperienze più importanti che ricordo sono i restauri delle Terme di Caracalla , Terme di Diocleziano , gli scavi di Pompei e tutti i mosaici che ora sono esposti in Palazzo Massimo .

Al di là di questa attività di restauro , anche io creo nuovi mosaici basate principalmente su artisti ? schizzi e su richiesta. Io uso di tecniche e materiali diversi da quelli classici a quelli più innovativi

– Hai lavorato solo in Italia o anche all’estero?

Ho lavorato molti anni negli Stati Uniti e anche in tutto il mondo per il governo degli Stati Uniti che mi ha impegnato le decorazioni di tutti i cimiteri di guerra .

– Come mai hai deciso di insegnare l’arte ai giovani ?

E ‘venuto assolutamente naturale. Ho sempre voluto condividere e trasmettere le mie conoscenze e la passione ad altre persone , così ho sempre accettato , nel mio negozio , chiunque abbia voglia di imparare questa arte .

– Come sono organizzati i vostri corsi ?

? E ‘s molto facile, se qualcuno vuole iniziare un percorso che deve venire qui e ci fissare un giorno e l’ora in base ai nostri impegni reciproci. Di solito la lezione dura tre ore , ed è molto pratico , nel senso che assegno di lavoro per ciascun apprendista , così dopo 3 o 4 mesi ognuno ha la soddisfazione di vedere un lavoro realizzato. Il costo delle lezioni è di circa Euro150 per ogni mese .

– Che consiglio daresti a qualcuno disposto ad imparare mosaici ?

Non è necessariamente un atteggiamento particolare, solo la volontà di farlo . Ho visto che tutti , alla fine del corso è in grado di creare molto belle mosaici .

Seduta qui , in questo particolare negozio , per qualche tempo e parlare con Cassio è un’esperienza meravigliosa , vero? S come entrare in un mondo magico fatto di bei colori e immagini in cui tutto parla di passione, esperienza e amore per questa arte . E ‘doesn t importa se siete veramente interessati a fare un corso o comprare qualcosa , vero? S bello venire qui anche solo per un colloquio , c’è sempre qualcuno con una storia interessante da raccontare .
