Al di là del mondo, al di là delle frontiere, al di là dell’altro, la pittura di Valérie Honnart esplora “spazi tra”: spazio tra corpi danzanti, spazio tra il mondo conosciuto e sconosciuto, tra memoria e memoria, l’oblio. L’arte di Valérie Honnart è la sintesi di influenze varie dall’oriente all’occidente come solo lei sa trasmettere, uno sguardo sui corpi, sui paesaggi, il linguaggio tra la natura e il corpo umano, espressione di tanta umanità a volte quasi sfuggevole… I suoi percorsi artistici e personali arrivano da lontano- ha vissuto diversi anni in Cina –e sono tutti i punti di supporto per sviluppare una ricerca espressionista personale sul corpo umano e il nostro rapporto intenso e con l’anima nostra e del mondo.

Valerie si racconta in questa intervista a Roma dove ha suo studio…

  1. Come e quando inizia il tuo percorso artistico?

Il mio percorso artistico, ciò è il momento in quale mi sono dedicata pienamente all’arte è stato in 1997 a Hong Kong quando ho iniziato a studiare la pittura cinese tradizionale all’università di Shatin. E stato la scoperta di un universo visuale ed estetico totalmente diverso che mi ha sconvolto. Da quel momento ho lasciato il mio lavoro e ho deciso di consacrarmi solo alla pittura.

  1. Qual è il senso della tua esperienza creativa?

La mia esperienza di creativa e prima di tutto un’esperienza d’interiorità, ciò è riuscire a trasformare le mie emozioni, letture, incontri, rabbie, in un materiale artistico. E una forma di alchimia. L’esperienza creativa esiste anche con lo sguardo di chi la guarda, quindi è anche una questione di linguaggio e di discorso. Oggi come prima gli artisti hanno una responsabilità di potere parlare (e fare vedere) di argomenti attuali.

  1. Dove hai sviluppato di più il tuo senso artistico in quale tecnica?

Ho sviluppato il mio senso artistico da piccola con mio nonno. Ogni mercoledì mi portava a scoprire degli quartieri di Parigi e mi portava anche nei musei, mi spiegava l’arte, ma trasmetteva il suo senso della bellezza. Più tardi ho scoperto la pittura cinese a Hong Kong, e l’ho imparata con delle tecniche tradizionali: inchiostro di china su carta, su seta. Quando sono arrivata a Roma in 1999, ho voluto anche imparare le tecniche antiche (affreschi, tempera …) e l’incisione. Avevo un vero bisogno di capire da dentro queste tecniche perché in China avevo capito quanto e importante la manualità .

  1. La Rilevazione dell’opera? Quando avviene e perché secondo te?

E una cosa molto misteriosa che non si può spiegare, è un momento magico che capita e che ho la fortuna ogni tanto di cogliere. Però è anche il frutto di un lungo lavoro di sperimenti, di fallimenti, di letture, d’incontri.

  1. A quale artista ti ispiri?

Mi piacciono tanto artisti diversi

I classici Caravaggio e Pontormo e il Cinese Zhang Daqian

Il Francese Pierre Soulages per l’invenzione del suo nero oltremare,

Anselm kiefer per i suoi libri d’artista

Louise Bourgeois per le sue sculture e opere ricamate. Di lei mi piace anche molto la sua personalità

  1. Il tuo processo creativo si basa anche su una grande ricerca espressionista e soprattutto interiore, come si sviluppa? e quanto è importante oggi la ricerca per voi artisti?

Ogni momento è potenzialmente una scoperta e da materia ad una ricerca .

Ecco perche, leggo tanto, mi piace anche la danza contemporanea e vado spesso a vedere dei spettacoli di danza. Una ricerca può anche nascere da un’immagine vista nelle notizie o da un incontro. A volte la ricerca può essere più lunga, in Francia per esempio, avevo lavorato su in progetto con un ospedale e per qualche mese avevo seguito un chirurgo.

Vorrei un giorno avere la possibilità di spendere un tempo lungo a riflettere con un laboratorio di ricerca per esempio sull’intelligenza artificiale o sulle ricerche sulle neuro science.

Per me la ricerca è importante fa parte della sincerità con la quale dipingo, pero non vuole dire che per altri artisti sia la stessa cosa.

  1. China su tela di seta…descrivici come crei una tua opera?

Quando un Cinese voleva dipingere un albero, andava spesso a passeggiare davanti all’albero, lo guardava, lo sognava, poi tornava a casa per dipingerlo. Questa cosa mi è rimasta. Quindi il processo mentale e lungo, e la realizzazione veloce senza possibilità di pentirsi. Disegno tanto, preparo il fondo della tela ciò è della seta e poi con i pennelli cinesi e l’inchiostro dipingo l’immagine mentale che ho e che ho tante volte prima disegnare.

  1. Le Simbologie, quanto sono importanti?

Venendo dalla cultura occidentale mi sono interessata molto ai simboli e alla mitologia. Però avendo vissuto in varie culture ho anche imparato a giocare con vari simboli che hanno secondo le culture dei significati diversi.

  1. Parliamo dei colori…e del tuo colore rosso…presente come nell’arte orientale, che valore ha? e come lo utilizzi?

Parlando di simbologia, il rosso per i Cinese e il colore della felicità della gioia, quindi il mio rosso e legato a questa visione. Questo rosso lo uso con dei pigmenti e delle lache.

  1. Il tuo prossimo progetto cosa simboleggia?

No lo so …Vorrei riflettere ancora sulla tema degli alberi, della foresta.

  1. Cosa vorresti creare in futuro? E Quali sono i tuoi Progetti futuri?

Vorrei lavorare di più la scultura mi piacerebbe rifare una scultura in marmo. Come nei progetti la prossima mostra sarà sicuramente a Parigi

  1. Per terminare chiedo sempre a gli artisti che incontro…fatti una domanda che nessuno ti ha mai chiesto (e che avresti voluto sentirti domandare) e risponditi…

Ti sarebbe piaciuto dipingere in un’altra epoca e quale? Si mi sarebbe piaciuto dipingere nel rinascimento pero come uomo. E mi piacerebbe vedere come si dipingerà fra 100 anni, perché la pittura dell’epoca non morirà mai.

Valerie Honnart ha esposto in Cina, Taiwan in Corea con la Philippe Staib Gallery, Belgio, Francia e Italia. A Roma ha esposto in vari luoghi pubblici e privati, tra cui Spazio Cerere. Questo suo ultimo lavoro è stato presentato a Villa Medici a gennaio 2017. Le sue opere fanno parte di collezioni private in Italia, Cina Francia.
