Apre giovedì 21 ottobre 2021 alle ore 18 la mostra personale di DORIS MANINGER dal titolo per un’antologia provvisoria di desideri elevati presso lo Studio Stefania Miscetti a cura di Veronica He e Pia Lauro. In mostra fino al 8 gennaio 2022.
In mostra quaranta Mongolfiere, realizzate con materiali di riciclo e objet trouvé (oggetti trovati) ed elementi naturali, ognuna dedicata ad un desiderio. Questo progetto nasce nella primavera del 2020 quando, in risposta all’isolamento imposto dalla pandemia, l’artista ha chiesto ad amici, familiari e colleghi, di esprimere un desiderio da plasmare, lasciando tutti loro liberi di seguire il flusso dei propri pensieri ed aspirazioni. Questa libertà ha dato vita ad un discorso corale, costituito da un insieme di desideri tutti diversi fra loro ma accomunati dalla stessa forza e determinazione.
L’antologia composta da Doris Maninger è, come esplicitato dal titolo stesso, una raccolta provvisoria – perché potenzialmente in divenire – di desideri ironicamente definiti “elevati”, allusione sia alla loro nobiltà sia alla loro sospensione nello spazio. Oltre alla serie Mongolfiere, in mostra anche la serie di disegni, nei quali l’artista torna a lavorare sui desideri per dare vita a lavori bidimensionali dove l’intuizione artistica trova la sua massima sintesi e astrazione. A completare l’esposizione voci fuoricampo che trasformano ogni singolo desiderio in traccia sonora. Questa parte del progetto è stata sviluppata in collaborazione con Maurizio Alampi, che ad ogni desiderio ha associato un breve componimento, fornendo una lettura poetica, dichiaratamente parziale, fra le molte possibili.
Per un’antologia provvisoria di desideri elevati è dunque una raccolta di forme del desiderio, nella quale la coesistenza dei linguaggi, ed una metodologia di composizione basata sulla circolarità e la coralità del pensiero danno vita ad una antologia che potremmo definire della vicinanza, in quanto racconto della sostanza della relazione umana.
La mongolfiera è l’aeromobile dell’immaginario che galleggia attraverso un cielo spazzato dal vento e ci porta i desideri di ognuno di noi, che possano volare in alto… e raggiungere tutti….
In occasione dell’opening sarà presentato il libro dal titolo Per un’antologia provvisoria di desideri elevati di Doris Maninger, Maurizio Alampi e Mirza Kahriman, pubblicato da CURA.BOOKS e Motto Books e in distribuzione a partire dal 25 Novembre.

L’Artista DORIS MANINGER (Graz, Austria 1958)
Formatasi come pittrice e restauratrice all’Accademia di Belle Arti di Vienna, si è trasferita giovanissima in Italia per completare i suoi studi in vari campi delle arti e dei mestieri. Il suo lavoro si sposta costantemente tra diversi campi come la pittura, la scultura, il design tessile e la gioielleria, combinando tecniche tradizionali con nuovi approcci formali e ricerche teoriche. Nel 1998 si trasferisce a Firenze e fonda con Lucia Massei la scuola di gioielleria contemporanea Alchimia. Ha esposto, tenuto conferenze, workshop e curato a livello internazionale in luoghi come, tra gli altri, Hong Kong, Seoul, Tokyo, Tel Aviv, Bangkok, Il Cairo e in varie istituzioni private e pubbliche in Europa e in America. Nel 2017 ha lasciato la scuola che ha co-fondato e lavora come consulente, educatrice freelance e artista. Dal 2016 e consulente didattico del Design Studio Azza Fahmy in Cairo, Egitto. Formazione: borsa di studio al Saddleback College, Orange County, CA, USA, per studi di ceramica e pittura (1977-78); studi di pittura presso l’Akademie der Bildenden Kuenste, Vienna, Austria (1979-82); studi in restauro di dipinti e supporti lignei, Dipartimento di Beni Culturali, Cosenza, Italia (1984-85); studi in gioielleria e design del gioiello, Le Arti Orafe, Firenze (1989-91).
