The fourth edition of Caput Mundi INTERNATIONAL BURLESQUE AWARD took place on 4-5-6 November 2016. During the first two evenings this Award expressed the contrast between the rationalist geometry of Spazio Novecento (Space 900) and the generous sinuous bodies of more than 30 artists, on board of vintage cars, paraded through the streets on the last day of the event.
Ends this year with the Farewell Party, a relaxing day away from the glories of the first nights, and closer to the public, with workshops and events in the Yellow hostel structure that every year turns into the Burlesque house in Rome, providing hospitality to the performer and devoting its space to the curious activities of the festival, made this year in collaboration with Gala Studio, Dr.Sketchy Rome, Contesta Rock Hair and Naked Girls Reading Rome.
Between different workshops, opened to the public, include those with Janet Fischietto, Miss Skopalová, Jett Adore, Betty Crispy and Velma Von Bon Bon, burlesque artists who have taught the patrons some of their performances secrets, how to handle the fire, turn into clowns , or simply to revive the Moulin Rouge dances.
With Dr.Sketchy Rome workshop, directed by Paolo Donfrancesco, it was possible to portray the true details of Alekseï Von Wosylius, Pepper Sparkles, Sayuri Gei and Vibrissa, in 10 minutes poses in which the designers have thrown color (sketching) on immaculate sheets.
After Dr.Sketchy the performers were accepted by Contesta Rock Hair salon where Albadoro Gala, Genny Blueberry, Nuit Blanche and young Imy Silly Noir, Jolie Tease, Madcat and Coco Le Moko, have been pampered by the mastery of Contesta boys the hairstyle for the final show.
In the early evening, a few guests attended the expected Naked Girls Reading by Frankie Vivid and Michelle L’Amour. Bare readings performed by women without veils, in desabillè, arriving from Chicago to Rome and see protagonists the queens of burlesque Nuit Blanche, Albadoro Gala and Genny Blueberry.
This championship in Rome, or festival, properly Caput Mundi Award has run its course with great festivities in full burlesque style, including motorcyclists, performer and much of the international audience that speaks English … rivers of beer and girls of the Golden Eggs Revue, always with a bit of clever irony Rome greets the special guest star Velma Von Bon Bon culminating in a show of celebration and the funny irony who praised the most of Caput Mundi International Burlesque Award 2016.
