Since from the entrance you have to choose which kind of experience you want to live. The physical and emotional interaction push you behind the masterpiece. But considering the location and the kind of setting the exhibition seems to be powerful for children and young people. The adult visitor who walks among engine sculptures and surrounded by hanging eyes not alway have all the elements of comprehention and appreciation of these powerful masterpieces.
Anyway the untouchable filter of art is broken trough the ‘900 icons works: Alexander Calder, Mat Collishaw, Jean Tinguely, Leandro Erlich, Tony Oursler, Ernesto Neto, Piero Fogliati, Michael Lin, Gino De Dominicis, Erwin Wurm, Hans Op de Beeck, Studio 65, Martin Creed, Ryan Gander, teamLab.
Artists share fun in its ethimological sense: to bring somewhere else. The visitor is surrounded by giant objects, pass through a labirint of glasses, a balloons room and fits into the works themselves like the two people pullover.
The artists invite their audience to live that experience through the works of art. I do not here describe details to leave the surprise effect to those who still have to visit the exhibition.
FOLLOW THE MOVEMENT (Alexander Calder)
PUSH THE PEDAL TO BRING THE SCULPTURE TO LIFE (Jean Tinguely)
LET YOURSELF BE CRADLED BY ART (Ernest Neto)
OBSERVE AND LET YOURSELF BE OBSERVED (Tony Oursler)
LET YOURSELF BE OVERWHELMED BY LAUGHTER (Gino De Dominicis)
SWIM IN A SEA OF BALLOONS (Martin Creed)
IS IT YOU WHO IS SMALL OR SHE WHO IS BIG? (Hans Op De Beek)
SIT IN IT AND FIND THE COURAGE TO BE A KID AGAIN (STUDIO65)
Different opinions about the exhibition to not erase the value of an artistical experience out of the traditional path.
