Viviamo in un era fatta di numeri e di concetti astratti in cui l’illusione e la menzogna sembra essere ovunque, strutturale e inafferrabile.

L’autore del libro che presentiamo in questa occasione, Stefano Diana, sostiene  che la matematica viene sfruttata dal potere, sia in buona che mala fede, per dare a teorie irrazionali e poco umane la sembianza di verità attendibile e scientifica… “costruendo rappresentazioni del mondo irreali, un diorama fatto di finte scienze e false certezze.”

Questo illusionismo scientifico sembra servire ad una minoranza sofisticata e dispotica, è un valido strumento di potere e di dominio che si veste di razionalità, di civiltà e di progresso. Per l’umanità il costo è molto alto e non fa altro che aggravare il livello di alienazione.

Questo libro appare come una sorta di denuncia a tutto questo irrazionale metodo scientifico che mette nello stesso piano l’illusione e la realtà confondendola e sfocando ad arte la lente d’ingrandimento che il potere ci  regala.

In “Noi siamo Incalcolabili” si cerca di riappropriarsi dell’aspetto empatico dell’essere umano per contrapporsi al totalitarismo contabile, che secondo l’autore provoca una sorta di tossicodipendenza terminale dai numeri. Si viene quindi invitati a recuperare e a sviluppare la nostra abilità empatica, e abbandonare il mito ricardiano dell’egoismo.

Quanto fa un’idea più un’idea? Quanto una soddisfazione più un rimpianto? Quanto un rimorso per una speranza, una speranza diviso un popolo? Quanto un maschio elevato a una femmina? La vita significa nuotare in aperti oceani dove la logica e la matematica non possono arrivare. Invece quelli che contano vogliono farci credere di saper misurare, calcolare, prevedere tutto. Così loro mantengono il potere, un potere spietato e brutale ma protetto da una linda facciata scientifica, mentre noi incalcolabili siamo sempre più disorientati, spaventati, persino malati, quando sulla carta la nostra condizione dovrebbe essere luminosa e piacevole come mai prima. Allora urge trovare una via d’uscita da questo illusionismo, prima che lui finisca noi.
