The butterfly house is a small greenhouse on the Appia Pignatelli where you can admire more than 40 different species of butterflies.

You will be immersed in the tropical heat with a humidity close to 100% surrounded by beautiful colorful butterflies that with no great fears will rest on you, or allow themselves to be admired and photographed even very close up.

During the visit, I recommend you go when there are no school classes, you will always be accompanied by an expert who can answer any questions and show you the most interesting butterflies giving details and trivia.
Experts are volunteers and have a good preparation combined with infinite patience and excellent communication skills, will have something useful and interesting to say to everyone.
As for the ban on flash photography, I suggest, in order to take good photos, to use an LED illuminator. On the search engine look for “circular LED illuminator” and you will find it for less than 30 Euros.
Do not be afraid not to find something, a nursery full of nymphs constantly supplying new and beautiful butterflies to the greenhouse.
 

All the butterflies you see are breaded.
It’a really interesting experience that I recommend also to the children.


Attention, in the greenhouse is really hot, I suggest you very light dress or be prepared to sweat like in a turkish bath!
The best time is in the afternoon after 16 and in the morning.
