With more than 200 pieces on display, the exhibition “Diva: Italian Glamour in Fashion Jewellery” is dedicated to the elegance, creative flair, quality manufacturing, attention to materials and workmanship, typical of one of the areas of undisputed Italian excellence.
An extraordinary exhibition dedicated to Italian fashion jewelry from the 1950s to today “DIVA! Italian Glamour in Fashion Jewellery” presents 200 pieces of Italian fashion jewellery that from the 1950s to today are examples of Italian beauty, creativity, craftsmanship and innovation. Promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and curated by Alba Cappellieri, Professor of Jewellery Design at the Milan Polytechnic and Director of the Jewellery Museum in Vicenza with Beatrice Rossato, Livia Tenuta, Susanna Testa,
Diva! presents Italian fashion jewelry as the aesthetic mirror of an evolving society, illustrating the transformations of style and the achievements of women. For this reason we can consider the Italian fashion jewel as a “cultural” object and not only an aesthetic ornament, representing and synthesizing the roots and values of the Italian culture. The exhibition travels through the masterpieces of the major Italian jewelers, one of the best expressions of Italian craftsmanship, fashion brands, which embody the unique Italian creativity in the world, and independent designers, who bring the evolution of forms, innovations in materials and the use of new technologies. International masters and young talents meet with talented fashion jewelry makers, visionary designers and fashion creators that make the world envious, shaping three different visions with one great central theme: the excellence of Italian fashion jewelry.
The exhibition, curated by Professor Alba Cappellieri, Professor of Jewellery and Accessory Design at the Politecnico di Milano and Director of the Jewellery Museum in Vicenza, and organized by POLI.design, tells the story of Italian fashion jewelry, which since the 1950s has become a reflection of style, values and society. The exhibition presents the fruitful intertwining of stylists, couturiers and independent designers, showing how quality is not simply the result of precious materials but of the intangible value of creativity, craftsmanship and innovation. From the Dolce Vita to prêt-à-porter, up to the new millennium, the masterpieces of Italian jewelers lead the visitor to the discovery of fashion jewelry, emphasizing the creative solutions and refinement.
