Garage Italia è un hub creativo e culturale, ideato e creato dal nipote di Gianni Agnelli, Lapo Elkann. L’imprenditore torinese ha voluto ridare vita ad un luogo simbolo della Milano del rinascimento post-bellico: la stazione di servizio Agip di Piazzale Accursio, voluta dal fondatore dell’ENI Enrico Mattei.

All’interno della “stazione di servizio”, oltre al bar ed un ristorante, si trova un vero e proprio atelier nel quale prendono vita progetti di restauro e personalizzazione di auto, moto e barche.

Garage Italia merita assolutamente di essere visitato, Lapo infatti insieme all’architetto Michele De Lucchi, hanno creato all’interno una vera e propria “casa dei balocchi” che lascia tutti a bocca aperta. Al piano terra si trova il bar, sul cui soffitto sono appesi un migliaio di modellini di auto che fanno venir voglia di tornare bambini per poterci giocare.

Al piano superiore c’è anche la possibilità di cenare con i piatti preferiti del Drake (Enzo Ferrari), l’insalata preferita dell’avvocato Agnelli e tanti altri piatti che i personaggi famosi dell’auto amavano mangiare. Il tutto si può gustare stando seduti su dei bellissimi divani rivestiti in pelle della Ferrari 146, illuminati da lampade costruite con terminali di scarico e circondati da una pista di auto radiocomandate, anche questa volta appese al soffitto.

Ma le sorprese non finiscono qui, salendo ancora di un piano si trova una terrazza arredata in stile nautico, con pavimenti in legno e poltroncine che ricordano proprio quelle delle imbarcazioni Riva.

Anche i bagni sono rivestiti in legno di mogano con rubinetti di tipico design industriale. L’aria che si respira purtroppo non è quella di mare, ma l’impressione che si ha è certamente quella di stare su una bellissima Riva, grande eccellenza navale italiana nel mondo.

Chi invece vuole vivere un’esperienza più adrenalinica, può provare il simulatore di guida professionale a forma di Ferrari 458, montata sopra dei bracci robotizzati che rendono l’esperienza ancora più realistica.

Ma il Garage non è solo quello raccontato finora, anzi la vera essenza del Garage di Lapo sta nei progetti di restauro e personalizzazione di auto, moto e barche.

Proprio l’anno scorso, tra i tanti progetti lanciati dall’imprenditore torinese, ce n’è uno che prevede il restauro di celebri auto storiche italiane. L’obiettivo non è solo quello di restaurare l’auto, ma di personalizzarla in ogni minimo dettaglio e soprattutto sostituire i motori termici con degli efficientissimi motori elettrici. Il progetto “ICON-E”, questo il nome scelto dall’erede Agnelli, è già passato su una Fiat 500 jolly ed una panda 4×4 prima serie.

Ed è Proprio in questo periodo che Garage Italia custom rende noto al pubblico che vuole continuare questa serie di restomod con la mitica Alfa Romeo Spider (Duetto).

Il capolavoro “made in Milano” disegnato da Pininfarina, venduta tra il 1966 e il 1994 in quattro serie, di cui l’azienda di Lapo ha deciso di prendere l’ultima, verrà trasformato in una one-off a zero emissioni.

Il concept annunciato sulla pagina Facebook, mostra come le linee rimangono fedeli al progetto di Pininfarina, ma con qualche rivisitazione al baule, al paraurti posteriore e i fanali, che sembra saranno sostituiti con dei moderni led per ridare una nuova giovinezza all’auto.

La restmod ICON-E sostituisce la classica capote in tela, con un hard-top tutto trasparente.

Dal rendering si riesce a vedere che lo spazio che avrebbe dovuto occupare il meccanismo di apertura del tetto è stato rimosso, ora coperta da una bellissima finitura in legno rosso.

Negli interni è stato fatto un grande lavoro di pulizia, gli inserti ora riportano il colore della carrozzeria anche dentro.

Nella plancia rimane la leva del cambio ad “H”, al momento non è noto il motivo, visto che in un’auto elettrica (purtroppo) è un elemento superfluo.

Ad ogni modo anche solo nelle immagini rilasciate sui canali social si riesce a vedere come sempre l’elevato livello di artigianalità e personalizzazione a cui Carlo Borromeo – direttore creativo di garage Italia- ci ha ormai abituato nei suoi progetti.

Anche se al momento si parla solo di un concept, speriamo che il team di Garage Italia faccia la sua solita magia, rendendo un disegno su carta un oggetto del desiderio per molti appassionati, e di poterla vedere sfrecciare, questa volta silenziosamente, lungo le strade della nostra bella Italia.
