Cantautrice, ballerina e modella. Talento, carattere ed esibizionismo. Questa la sintesi di Juel, al secolo Chiara Panzieri, nata e cresciuta a Roma. Bambina prodigio, manifesta subito la sua predisposizione artistica con la danza, facendone con gli anni la sua ragione di vita e di lavoro. Artista poliedrica, partecipa come ballerina a spettacoli teatrali nella “Compagnia delle Stelle” al Sistina di Roma e al musical “Grease”. Si esibisce come performer nella manifestazione “Battiti Live” e nello show “Great Lenghts” a Londra, Göteborg e Napoli. Molteplici le sue esperienze televisive come ballerina tra cui “Domenica In”, “Operazione Trionfo”, ”Veline”, “Paperissima”, “Ciak Si Canta” e come attrice nella sit-com “Io e Margherita” con Enrico Beruschi e nel film “Five Hours South”.
Vuole carta e penna per essere completa e, complice un incidente che la costringe in casa per un anno, scrive fiumi di rime che parlano di lei. Cresce nell’hip hop della Capitale, utilizzando qualsiasi forma musicale utile al suo messaggio. Disinvolta sul palco e icona di stile, cattura subito l’attenzione del pubblico. Musicalmente inizia a farsi notare nel 2013 quando viene coinvolta da Primo Brown dei Cor Veleno per il featuring su “Fatte ‘na Vita” pubblicato nel III° volume di “Rap Nelle Mani”. “Cenere e Polvere” è l’ultimo singolo pubblicato dall’artista romana per l’etichetta Limited Music Trade.

Rome Central l’ha intervistata.

Come vedi la scena musicale di Roma?
Non ci sono molte opportunità per cantautori che vogliono suonare…bisogna essere dei bravi PR per attirare l’attenzione dei gestori e questo è un altro esempio di come per la nuova musica siano più importanti i numeri che l’originalità e l’arte. A Roma vanno molto le cover band che sfruttano i numeri degli artisti famosi e che si muovono per una birra e una pizza. Costo zero, guadagno assicurato per il locale. Non volevo essere polemica ma questo è il mio pensiero!

Cosa c’è di Roma nella tua musica e nei tuoi testi?
Ciao! Grazie per avermi dedicato tempo e spazio; saluto tutti i lettori di Rome Central. Roma è presente in ogni canzone e in ogni cosa che faccio perché è parte di me. Sono nata e cresciuta in questa bellissima e caotica città, ne ho preso le abitudini, il dialetto e parte del mio spirito artistico e umano.

Che rapporto avevi con Primo Brown dei Cor Veleno?

Eravamo amici. Un rapporto di stima, rispetto, lealtà e comprensione. Ci confrontavamo sui nostri diversi modi di vedere le cose, che poi tanto diversi non erano. Volevamo “conquistare il mondo” così dicevamo quando eravamo in balia della nostra fase creativa. Mi ha insegnato ad accettare le mie sfumature artistiche e a farne un’arma vincente. Eravamo amici nonostante anche lunghi silenzi, compagni di gioco e di scorribande e due cantautori affamati di musica e passione. Lui era ed è il mio spirito guida!

Suonare nella Capitale aiuta rispetto a chi vive in altre zone?
No, la Capitale è un po’ ferma sotto questo punto di vista. Non ci sono molte opportunità per esibirsi.

Che locali frequenti a Roma?
Fino a qualche anno fa ero un addetto ai lavori della movida notturna romana. Ho anche organizzato serate live R’n’B nelle quali, per altro, conobbi i Cor Veleno. Avendo frequentato molto i locali romani, ora non amo passare le serate in discoteca. Mi piace alimentare la mia creatività ascoltando e vedendo cose e situazioni fuori dalle mie vecchie abitudini per avere nuovi input e stimoli.

Sei un’artista a 360°, ma, tra cantautrice, ballerina e modella cosa ti rappresenta meglio?
Sicuramente il modo in cui mi esprimo con la musica è più diretto e sincero rispetto all’indossare un vestito. La voce, le parole arrivano dritte al cuore e non c’è scampo dal sentirsi “nudi” e mostrare anche le proprie fragilità.

Oltre ai recenti singoli che hai pubblicato stai lavorando ad un album completo?
Si, sono già pronte altre canzoni e molto probabilmente prima della fine del 2018 uscirà l’album.

Ha ancora senso per un artista emergente nel 2018 pubblicare un album?
Se ha già alle spalle qualche singolo e un buon seguito direi di sì, anche se forse sarebbe più appropriato un EP.

Featuring nel cassetto?
Per ora niente di concreto ma se potessi scegliere sicuramente Jovanotti o Tiziano Ferro farebbero al caso mio.

Talent, Instagram, YouTube, streaming sono una risorsa per la musica o un limite?
Per i Talent non parlerei di musica ma di show, la musica viene strumentalizzata a tal fine e i progetti che nascono muoiono dopo un anno. Instagram e Youtube aiutano l’artista ad arrivare al pubblico utilizzando anche altre forme di comunicazione, promuovendo la propria musica liberamente.
