L-amore-migliora-la-vita_il-cast_ETTORE BASSI, GAIA DE LAURENTIIS, ELEONORA IVONE, GIORGIO BORGHETTISulla commedia “L’amore migliora la vita” di Angelo Longoni, in scena al teatro Sala Umberto dal 9 al 21 febbraio 2016 è stato scritto e detto molto in questi giorni.
Lo spettacolo è stato un grande successo di pubblico e critica, anche perché affronta tematiche di urgente attualità nel panorama sociale del paese, visto che proprio in questi giorni si discute in Parlamento sui diritti civili delle coppie di fatto e delle coppie gay.
La famiglia, come istituzione tradizionale, in questi giorni viene messa in discussione o difesa a spada tratta, spaccando l’opinione pubblica in fazioni contrapposte. La risposta ad ogni controversia potrebbe essere semplice, come la frase che dà il titolo a questa commedia: “l’amore migliora la vita“.

Il problema è come riconoscere l’amore, quando è nascosto e soffocato da sentimenti come la paura e la frustrazione e dai pregiudizi sociali. Di questo parla infatti la pièce di Longoni, mettendo in scena la storia di due coppie di quarantenni borghesi alle prese con una “patata bollente”: i rispettivi figli maschi appena maggiorenni, Edoardo e Matteo, sono stati denunciati dal bidello della scuola, perché sorpresi in atteggiamenti intimi. Rischiano la sospensione e la non ammissione agli esami di maturità.
La gravità della situazione impone ai genitori di affrontare il problema insieme e decidono di farlo durante una cena. Nel corso dell’incontro conviviale, quello che nasce come un confronto ipocritamente civile si trasforma pian piano in una guerra tra concezioni della vita e dei rapporti famigliari contrapposti. I quattro personaggi in scena hanno caratteri antitetici che ben si prestano a generare un conflitto esilarante e amaro allo stesso tempo. Marco (Giorgio Borghetti), padre di Edoardo, è un borghesotto rozzo che si è arricchito con un’impresa di piastrelle, indulgendo a mazzette e lavoro a nero dei suoi operai; la madre di Edoardo, Anna (Gaia De Laurentiis), è una casalinga repressa che sogna perennemente una vita diversa, ma non rischia nulla per realizzarla, schiava di un perbenismo ottuso e bigotto; Franco (Ettore Bassi), il padre di Matteo è un artista snob e anticonformista, che si pone su un piedistallo e disprezza con disincantato cinismo tutto e tutti, generando frustrazione e inadeguatezza nella moglie Silvia (Eleonora Ivone), giornalista di rotocalco rosa dalle vedute aperte. Così lo scontro è assicurato e si risolve in un crescendo che porta i personaggi ad un gioco al massacro, dove nessuno viene risparmiato e vengono sviscerati senza pietà debolezze, meschinità, ipocrisie e problemi di coppia irrisolti di tutti e quattro.

Una commedia brillante alla Neil Simon trascende pian piano in un’atmosfera che ricorda più “Carnage” di Yasmina Reza, con un climax di battute al vetriolo che culminano in vere e proprie colluttazioni fisiche. L’effetto è di una dirompente comicità, dovuta soprattutto alla bravura degli interpreti. Ognuno ha uno stile di recitazione diversa, ma tutti sono perfettamente calati nel loro personaggio, dotandolo di quelle sfaccettature che lo rendono umano e verosimile, non scadendo mai nella macchietta di maniera.
Particolarmente efficace e funzionale alla narrazione risulta la scelta scenografica. La scena è divisa in due parti: il salotto borghese dove si consuma la cena e l’esterno dell’appartamento. La divisione diventa quasi simbolica nel corso della commedia, in quanto all’interno del salotto buono ogni personaggio indossa la sua maschera sociale che marca convinzioni e convenzioni, mentre all’esterno ognuno dei protagonisti rivela il lato più vero ed umano confessando dubbi, debolezze e paure.
La musica costituita dalle note della celebre “I can’t take my eyes off of you” interpretata da Gloria Gaynor, seppure elemento accessorio, fa da contrappunto ironico alla vicenda con il suo dirompente inno all’amore.
Alla fine l’Amore, che è il grande assente sulla scena dove due coppie scoppiano e i quattro protagonisti non fanno che insultarsi e ferirsi , ritorna nel finale consolatorio attraverso la voce fuori campo dei due figli, che invece si amano e che paradossalmente hanno imparato, nonostante tutto, il valore dei sentimenti proprio dai loro imperfetti genitori che invece ne hanno perso il senso, troppo impegnati ad avvitarsi su se stessi e a non guardare più chi sta di fronte a loro e in particolare le persone più vicine e care. Insomma l’amore migliora la vita sì, ma solo se si è disposti a cercarlo e riconoscerlo al di là di ottusi pregiudizi.

Nata il 15 giugno del 1972 in provincia di Bari , dopo gli studi classici si laurea in lettere classiche. Dopo la laurea consegue un master in comunicazione e mass media presso l’Università “Cesare Alfieri” di Firenze ed in seguito segue un corso presso Mediaset in sceneggiatura. A partire dal 1999 Lavora a Roma presso alcune società di produzione di fiction tv come la Lux Vide e per Rai due come consulente editoriale free-lance story editor assistant e Ufficio Stampa.
Nel 2005 sceglie di intraprendere un’altra strada. Dopo un corso di specializzazione diventa insegnante di lettere e attualmente lavora nella scuola pubblica come tale. In questi anni tuttavia non abbandona la sua vera grande passione: il teatro. Dal 2005 al 2014 recita, dirige e scrive spettacoli con un piccolo gruppo teatrale romano amatoriale I Ricercati o come solista, ma sempre in veri teatri romani, tra i quali il teatro Agorà, il teatro dell’Orologio e il Piccolo Eliseo.
