Otello”, tragedia per eccellenza che dai tempi di Shakespeare mette a nudo le passioni umane, è in scena al Globe Theatre di Roma fino al 5 agosto. Archetipo della passione amorosa e del dramma psicologico, una storia di violenza a tinte forti intima e familiare, per la regia e adattamento di Marco Carniti.

VITTIMA E CARNEFICE
Otello, il generale moro al comando delle truppe della Repubblica di Venezia, è un uomo tutto gerarchia e disciplina. Vive in un mondo in cui i sentimenti sono messi sotto processo e dove il suo amore per Desdemona diventa una tortura. Davanti agli inganni, che rivelano un uomo fragile, assistiamo al crollo dell’identità politica e culturale di Otello, sopraffatto totalmente dell’istinto.

Iago, invece, un applauditissimo Gianluigi Fogacci, è un soldato rancoroso e vendicativo. La mente dell’opera, che determina la vita dei protagonisti. Tutti sono marionette nelle mani di Iago, il trionfo, seppur malvagio, del suo genio. Ma aimè, alla fine il carnefice, suo malgrado, diventa vittima di sé stesso.

La scenografia particolarmente efficace di per sé suggerisce un senso di claustrofobia, cancelli in scena che diventano via via le movimentate prigioni fisiche e psicologiche dei protagonisti.

Shakespeare parte da problematiche politiche e razziali per entrare nel labirinto della psicologia umana e mettere in luce la vera natura dell’anima. Un interessante esperimento che sarebbe valido ancora oggi: come reagisce l’essere umano sottoposto a condizioni emotivamente estreme? In questo dramma teatrale nella schizzofrenia fra bene e male, l’irrazionale prevale su tutto fino a che la parte animale uccide la ragione.

OTELLO E IAGO OGGI
Le dinamiche pubbliche e ancor più quelle intime in scena rivelano che tutti siamo Otello, vittime di una parte oscura che è i noi. Anche nel terzo millennio il dubbio o l’incertezza potrebbero far precipitare la coscienza e trasformare l’uomo in vittima.
Altresì uno schiavo vendicativo potrebbe essere un kamikaze dei nostri giorni. Artefice di un piano diabolico di ribellione politica e sociale, incurante della bomba da lui stesso costruita che gli potrebbe esplodere tra le mani.
